Ranking The Nike Olympic Pack

There’s only three things guaranteed in life: death, taxes, and Nike releasing an Olympic Pack of sneakers every four years. This installment of Olympic kicks offers everything from basketball shoes to retro runners, and there’s definitely some heat to be had … so you already know what we had to do. We had to hit you with the official KicksOneTwo rankings. Let’s get right to it.

6. Air Max BW

Coming in at the bottom of the list is the Air Max BW. The shoe itself is nothing to write home about, and the black/white doesn’t work so well with the red, navy, and gold accents. Not bad, but not special. Not much more needs to be said.

5. Zoom Pegasus 92 Ultra

The concept behind the “Ultra” line of sneakers (cored-out outsole, modernized upper on a classic shoe) is usually dope, but the thick midsole on these Pegasus doesn’t sit well with the sleek, one-piece upper. The colorway is nice, but the shoe itself is somewhat middling.

4. Presto

Now we’re starting to turn the heat up a bit. The Presto may very well be the shoe of Summer ’16 (as we mentioned in an earlier article) and the Olympic colorway does the shoe plenty of justice, with the circular designs on the upper and the “USA” stamp on the tongue. A dope new colorway for a classic shoe.

3. Air Pegasus 92

If the 92 Ultras were the red-headed stepchild of the Olympic Pegasus family, the classic Pegasus 92’s would be the prodigal son. Perfect retro styling, a perfect Olympic colorway with excellent color blocking, and USA Track & Field hits on the heel and tongue? Sign us up.

2. Flyknit Presto

We’ve already discussed our love for the Presto, and we think that the Flyknit Presto is one of the best new releases of 2016. The point of this pack was to blend old and new together while paying homage to the Olympics, and this shoe sums up that mission perfectly. Look at the colorway (the gold cage is amazing). Look at the details (the hit of red on the ankle collar). Flyknit perfection.

1. Air More Uptempo

As much as we love the running silhouettes in this Olympic pack, nothing was going to take the #1 spot away from the Air More Uptempos. The simple blue and white upper, the gold detailing in the Air Max unit (great touch, right), and the bold “AIR” styling on the side speak loudly, just as the original shoe did when it was released in 1996. You already know Scottie Pippen is proud of these.
