1. Nike Dunk SB “Mahogany Hemp”

I’m a big fan of Nike SB’s, and you can’t go wrong with any hemp dunk. The mahogany swoosh and the gum midsole seal the deal for me on these.

2 Nike Dunk SB High “Thrashin”

Dunks based off of something are crazy to me, and this movie-inspired pair is one of my favorites. I love the multicolor swoosh too. read more

Looking Back On Soundset

This last Sunday, the KicksOneTwo staff was in attendance at the annual Soundset Festival. Just like every year, it was a crazy day filled with memorable performances from various dope artists. We thought we’d share our opinions on our favorite performances, as well as throw up a few pictures of the artists (we’ve got one of everyone on this recap except for Snow) by our good friend Adam DeGross.

Snow Tha Product

We had to stop by the Fifth Element tent for Snow’s set. The crowd was very responsive to tracks such as “Good Nights and Bad Mornings”, and she brought a fresh and different type of energy to her performance. read more

To Plug Or Not To Plug?

In the sneaker world today, it’s important to have a plug. With all the hype surrounding certain releases, you can’t always manage to get the sneakers you want on your own, you need a little help sometimes. That’s where your plug comes in: whether they work at Foot Locker, Finish Line, or just have connections, it can be crucial to have that helping hand.

On the flip side of the situation, maybe you’re the guy who is being asked to plug people. You’re in a position that enables you to get the sneakers that you want, and you’ve got people hitting you up frequently for help with releases. I’ve been in that position before, and wanted to share my two cents on the topic. read more

Soundset Do’s and Dont’s: Everything You Need To Know

For those of you who live under a rock, Soundset is this Sunday, May 25th at Canterbury Park. Here at KicksOneTwo, we love Soundset. We go every year, and we figured we’d whip up a quick guide with do’s and dont’s for those who might be a little bit newer to the game.

Do

-Get there a little early. You have to wait in line for what can amount to a decent while before you get to go in. Especially if you plan to push to the front, the sooner you get in the better.

-Bring your own flask if you want to drink. Drinks add up quickly there with the ticket system that they use, so bring some of your own sauce and save a little money. read more

Starting Five: KicksOneTwo Creative Director Jahmade John

For our second installment of Starting Five, we’ll be taking a look at my rotation. With everything from Nike SB to New Balance, I’m encompassing a wide variety of kicks. Take a look!

1.  Nike Dunk Hi Premium SB “Brainwreck”

Todd Bratrud is one of my favorite designers, and the Brainwreck is a crazy shoe. I really like the cool grey and pink color combo, and the “brain” stitching on the inside is a crazy touch.
