Yesterday was a big day.

I got my first article published on a site that’s known the world over. I’m now a contributor to the Karmaloop blog, KLX. I’ll be bringing fresh content to their blog 2-3 times a week. My first post was on one of my idols, none other than Skateboard P himself, Pharrell Williams. If you’re so inclined, you can read the piece here.

I’m still in a state of disbelief that this actually happened. When I started KicksOneTwo about a year ago, my goal was to reach as many people as I could. I’ve always said that if one person enjoyed one article that I wrote, it made the whole thing worthwhile. Now, with the help of a major site like Karmaloop, I have the chance to reach thousands of people all over the world. My main goal is to produce as much quality content as possible, both here, and for Karmaloop. read more

If you know me, you know that I love Jordan I’s. The silhouette is perfect, not too chunky and not too slim. They look good fresh out of the box or trashed. They’re the rare shoe that works with pants and shorts.

Owing to the fact that I love the shoe so much, I thought it would be only right to list off my top 5 Jordan I’s of all time, in order from #5 to #1. This list has nothing to do with rarity or value, just my favorites. So without further ado, let’s get into it.

Quality. It’s always important. When you buy a hamburger, you want a quality one. You don’t want one that tastes like it’s been under a heat lamp all day and is made up of odds and ends. When you buy a movie ticket, you (usually) want to see a quality movie. You’d rather not spend $10-$20 to see a washed up Adam Sandler try to squeeze every last dollar he can out of awful family films.

Where am I going with this tangent about quality products, be it a delicious beef patty or a feature film, you may ask? Worry not, it’s getting tied back to sneakers. I’m going to talk about the quality of sneaker writing as a whole. read more

At some point in your sneaker career (if you want to call it that), there’s been a few releases that you wanted badly. I’m not talking about a sneaker that you though “yeah, those would be a dope addition to my collection”. I’m talking about the kind of sneaker that keeps you up at night because you’re lying in your bed thinking about how fly they are. You’re in math class trying to learn high-level algebra, and all you can think of is the kicks. You’re at work and your boss is going over some boring pie chart, and all you can think of is the kicks. read more
