Top 5 Sneaker Releases This Weekend

We’re almost a full month into 2016, and it’s been a bit of a slow start to the year, at least as far as releases go. There’s plenty of fire right around the corner, but the first few weeks of the year weren’t the kindest to us.

However, that thankfully changes this weekend. Jordan Brand is dropping a BANGER (the first of the year), and there’s plenty of runner heat (both retro and new) as well. Without any further ado, here’s the top 5 sneaker releases this weekend.

5. Converse x Futura Chuck II Low-Monday, $100

We know, we know. Monday isn’t part of the weekend. But that’s not important here. What is important is that these Chuck II Lows Futura designed are absolute fire and they deserve a spot on the list. With a camo bottom and tongue contrasting wonderfully with the black upper and white midsole, these are an extremely wearable sneaker, and the best Chuck II to date.

4. Jordan V Low “Alternate”-Saturday, $175

We’re not usually the biggest fans of the low-top version of most retros, but these “Alternate” V lows were done just right. Everything that made the original high dope, from the 3M tongue, to the lace lock, to the classic midsole design is on point, and this low version appears to be slightly slimmed down so it’s not too chunky.

3. Bait x Saucony Shadow 5500 “Cruel World 6: Giant Leaps”

Whenever Bait and Saucony come together, it’s usually a resounding success, and their latest collaborative effort definitely falls in the “resounding success” category. The shoe’s supposed to represent moon landings to push the concept of chasing dreams, and Saucony and Bait will be donating to “Follow Your Dreams”, a UK charity. A great shoe, great symbolism, and a great cause. What more could you ask for?

2. Adidas NMD Runner-Saturday, $N/A

When it comes to innovation, nobody in the game is messing with adidas right now, and the newest colorway of the NMD Runner is some of their best work in recent memory. The styling pays homage to the brand’s roots, while the futuristic tech (Primeknit upper and Boost foam) nod to the brand’s future. There’s no official word on price just yet, but Three Stripes heads will likely be willing to pay any amount.

1. Just Don x Jordan II “Beach”-Saturday, $650 (comes with Just Don hat)

Jordan and Don C’s luxury sportswear label Just Don are back at it again with their latest collaborative model. Following the fantastic success of last year’s II’s, the duo teams up for a “Beach” colorway. The shoe perfectly sums up luxury sportswear in 2016 with its super high quality tanned leather and quilted design, and the leather-brim Don C hat that it comes with accents it perfectly.
