Summer. A time for style adaptation. It’s hot (and sometimes humid) out, and you don’t have access to your full wardrobe like you might in the colder months. But guess what? This is a good thing. It gives you an opportunity to take risks and try new things with your style…and one thing that you should try this summer is rocking some dope sandals.
We’re not talking about Birkenstocks (that’s too easy and too many hipsters wear them anyway), and we’re not talking about thong sandals (there’s really never any excuse for wearing a pair of thong sandals), we’re talking about dope slides and strap sandals, from the very cheap to the extremely expensive. Yeah, we’re starting off with an easy one. Everyone knows and loves the Gucci Pursuit ’72 slides thanks to a legendary Future line on DS2. They’re simple, elegant with Gucci’s trademark green and red stripes adorning the upper, and because of Future, they’re guaranteed to get you a chuckle or two as well. You really can’t go wrong.

Want to look like a very rare ninja? Yoji’s got you covered. The Y-3 Qasa sandal takes its inspiration from the infamous Qasa High, so if you’re a fan of those, then we already know you’re going to love these. Want a loud and obnoxious way to scream “I’m rich!!!” even if you’re not? If you’re willing to drop the cash, you can do just that with these Givenchy slides. Just be sure you wear them with clean socks…it kind of dulls the flex if your socks are dirty.
4. Teva x Beauty & Youth Hurricane XLT-$120
Remember the Tevas you had when you were a kid? Well here’s a grown-up version of them. Beauty & Youth slapped some great monochromatic colorways on the classic Hurricane XLT sandals, so now you can channel your childhood while still looking grown and fresh as all hell. Really, what’s not to love about these?
5. Adidas Adilette Slide-$30
We’ve brought you four pricy sandals, so we thought it would only be just to toss a pair in for the more budget-concious readers. You can never go wrong with a classic pair of Adilettes. They’re cheap, comfy, and you get to rock the classic 3 stripes. Pair em’ with some white crew socks, sweatshorts, and a white tee if you really want to get your West Coast look going.
