Foot Locker & FJ Missions: Doing The Most Good

We’re all sneakerheads. We’ve all got a damn good amount of shoes. This is what we do after all, right? We collect.

However, sometimes in our search for the ever-elusive pair to add onto the 20+ pairs we already have, we can forget that there are those who are less fortunate than us. Those who’d be happy to have one good pair of shoes. Those who buy shoes because they need them, not because they want them.

Thankfully, Foot Locker doesn’t forget those kids. This year marks the 28th straight year they’ve linked up with Fred Jordan Missions in Los Angeles to give away 4,000 pairs of kicks to needy kids. They gave those kids the shot to step out feeling like a million bucks in a new pair of kicks … which we all know is a feeling everyone should be able to have.

And they didn’t just dump whatever bottom of the barrel clearance shoes they could find on these kids … they blessed them with some very solid pairs. From retros like the Black Metallic V’s and Aqua VIII’s to Air Max, to classics like the Cortez, to brand-new releases like the Pinnacle I’s, these kids got the opportunity to own some of the best shoes on the market.

We’ve got to tip our hat to Foot Locker for supporting these kids every year, and giving them the chance to feel really great about themselves and the new shoes that are on their feet. That’s really what it’s all about, and spreading joy with sneakers is something we’re behind 100%.

What do you think of Foot Locker and FJ Missions teaming up to donate 4,000 shoes to the needy? Have you donated any of your shoes ever?
