Gucci: A brand that’s enjoyed a terrific resurgence in 2016. After several years of ho-hum releases and what seemed to be a lack of inspired products, Alessandro Michele took the helm and turned both the high-fashion world and the streetwear world on their heads with his loud, over-the-top (in a good way) designs and embroidery on everything. Gucci has got all the juice right now, and they don’t show any signs of stopping any time soon.
So you already know the recent announcement that they’d be re-releasing a classic logo tee and hoodie from the 80’s was met with much fanfare. Anything with a double G on it is a hit currently, and the fact that both have large logos on the chest makes them an automatic hit with the flexing crowd.
They’re both dope, vintage-inspired pieces. Want to know one thing that they’re not? You guessed it … affordable. The tee will set you back $420 and the hoodie costs a whopping $1200. That’s the designer game. Sure, you’ll get premium quality, but you’re going to be paying top dollar (plus the automatic extra designer price markup) for that quality.
Do you really want to flex? If you do, you can head over to Gucci’s webstore and cop either of these pieces for your wardrobe. If you’d rather pay your rent or eat instead … we can’t fault you. Start saving away, and you just might be able to grab one of these pieces one day soon.
What do you think of Gucci’s current direction and these pieces? Could you ever justify the price of the tee or the hoodie?
