Vans and Opening Ceremony. Two powerhouses. Two brands that do what they want, even if some people don’t rock with it (remember when Nick Young said Opening Ceremony should be called Closing Ceremony?). Two brands that just came together for a fire collab. Two brands that just came together for a “Mono” pack, consisting of Old Skools, Sk8-Hi’s and Prison Issues.
All the shoes in the pack are clean, wearable, and dressed in high-quality monochromatic leather. Even though they were born as skate shoes, Vans have always managed to look very high fashion-esque when dripped in premium materials. You can’t tell us that these don’t look like a high-end shoe!
The pack is available now on Opening Ceremony’s webstore, and is bound to sell out fast, so make sure you head over there as soon as possible and cop your pair. You don’t want to pass up a chance to have shoes that are this clean and wearable in your collection.
What’s our favorite pair? The three pairs pictured in the article all make a strong case for the top billing, but if we had to pick, we’d go with these natural leather Prison Issues. Normally we’d never chose a Prison Issue over an Old Skool or a Sk8-Hi, but these are extremely clean and they remind us just a bit of Hender Schemes. Seeing as we can’t afford those just yet (one day!), these are definitely a go.
What do you think of the Vans x Opening Ceremony collaborative effort? Do you have a favorite shoe or two from the pack?
