We’re not even two weeks into 2017 … and it’s already a crazy year for release announcements.
Following yesterday’s leak of what appeared to be a Kaws x Jordan IV (which was later confirmed by Kaws himself on his Instagram), it’s now been announced by reliable sources that Nike and Supreme will be collaborating on an Air Uptempo for the S/S 2017 line.
There’s not a ton of solid info on what colorways the shoes will release in, exactly when they drop, or what little details Supreme will slap on them, but one thing that has been confirmed is that the Uptempo’s iconic “Air” branding on the side will be replaced with Supreme’s “Sup” logo.
This should be crazy. “Sup” and “Air” aren’t all that alike in looks, so it’ll be interesting to see how Supreme is able to lend their signature aesthetic to a classic Nike Basketball shoe like the Uptempo. We wouldn’t doubt them too much though: they worked their magic on the Foamposite back in 2014, and have had several other successful collabs like the Dunk SB’s, the Bruins, and the recently-released Air Max 98’s to name a few.
The information that’s available on these Uptempos currently is not much, but it is Supreme, and it’s more than enough to get us excited. What exactly will these be like? Well, looks like we’re just gonna have to wait and see. Be sure to keep it locked right here for any info and updates.
