Fragment’s Done It Again With Their New “Chuxedo”

When it comes to sneaker collabs, you could make a strong argument that nobody in the game has a higher batting average than Fragment.

Year after year, Hiroshi Fujiwara’s design imprint comes together with Nike (sometimes regularly, sometimes as part of HTM) and Converse for clean, well-thought out shoes that stand the test of time … and they’ve certainly done just that with their new collaborative Converse Chuck 70, inspired by tuxedos (hence our self-given “Chuxedo” nickname).

The men are blessed with three colors: a simple black pair, a wooly grey pair, and a black pair with white pinstripes, while the ladies get an all-white pair with black detailing (yes, that actually is a women’s shoe) so they can match with their man if they choose.

Sometimes a collab is made great by its simplicity, and that’s certainly the case here. These aren’t super flashy. They won’t instantly turn heads the way a pair of Fragment I’s or all-3M Fragment Trainers might. They’re not what we’d call a “neck-breaker”.

But what they are is an extremely high quality pair of kicks that you can wear with almost any outfit and look good. That’s why they’re a winner in our book. You know that you’re getting your money’s worth any time you see that lightning bolt on a product … and that’s certainly the case here. If you’re interested, you can scoop them on Converse’s webstore this Thursday, February 16th.
