It’s that time once again.
The sneaker gods have blessed us with a weekend full of fire. There’s truly something for everyone releasing this weekend, no matter if your preference is retros or tech runners. And you already know when we’re blessed with a weekend full of heat, we rank it … so let’s get right to the ranking. Here’s the top 5 sneaker releases this weekend.
5. Nike Metcon 2 “Metcon Knows”- Friday, $140
We’re not fans of CrossFit. Most of the people who do it talk about it way too much (nobody cares about your workout routine), and we’re not normally fans of the shoes made for it either … but we’ve got to admit that these “Metcon Knows” Metcon II’s are dope. Slapping the original color way of the Air Trainer 1, one of the most iconic Nike trainers ever on their latest and greatest training shoe is a fantastic idea, as the colorway is just as fire today as it was when it first released. This shoe just makes a lot of sense.
4. Nike Hyperdunk “United We Rise”- Saturday, $ N/A
Although we haven’t been in love with the re-release of the Nike Hyperdunk (the originals were way better), we’re hyped on the “United We Rise” colorway. As the Hyperdunk was originally released in time for the 2008 Olympics, it’s only right that they bring back the OG colorway just in time for the 2016 games. You’ve gotta admit that the laser detailing is on ten too.
3. Bait x Dreamworks x Diadora N9000 “Felix the Cat”-Saturday, $220
Bait, Dreamworks, and Diadora come together again for another collaborative release, this time honoring Felix the Cat. The shoe comes with a Bearbrick, lapel pins, collectable figures, and a T-shirt (some of which is pictured at the top of this article), so you’re getting a whole miniature collection when you cop these. In true Diadora fashion, they’re premium quality leather, nubuck, and suede … and they’re the most limited release this weekend, as only 500 pairs will be available.
2. Pharrell x Adidas NMD “Human Race”- Saturday, $ N/A
Pharrell can do no wrong. It doesn’t matter if he’s producing music, designing shoes, or making clothes … the man is a genius, and everything he touches seems to turn to gold. He continues his streak of hits with this collaborative NMD, featuring a bold yellow Primeknit upper with “Human Race” in black across the upper forefoot. The NMD is one of the hottest shoes of Summer ’16, and this might just be the most desirable NMD release yet.
1. Air Jordan V “Black Metallic”-Saturday, $220
Could any other shoe really beat the V’s out for the #1 spot? Nope. They’re the best Jordan release of the year thus far in our opinion (we actually wrote about it earlier this week), and they’re a must-add to any collection. Just look at them. They speak for themselves. Classic and dope.
