We’re taking a break from sneakers today to bring you an important message. Fear not, sneaker-related content will be coming back your way very shortly. We’re just letting you know (for your own good) that you need to get out and vote.
We know, we know. This isn’t the best election on the books. There’s a good chance you don’t support either candidate. Believe us, we feel your pain. You still should hit the polls, either to cast a preventive vote (the lesser of two evils) or vote for a third party candidate who aligns with your beliefs.
Plus, you get a chance to vote for your local politicians that will fight for the bills and laws you want to see passed, both nationally and locally. There’s a lot on the line in a lot of different levels of government, so be the change you want to see.
There’s really no excuse. Even if you’ve gotta work all day, your job is required by law to give you time off … so if you’ve got a stingy boss, tell them to shove it. At very least you get a little break from work, right?
We’re not encouraging you to lean one way or the other. We’re not going to pitch you on a candidate and tell you why they’re so great and they need your vote. We’re not even going to hint at what way you should go with you vote. We just want you to get out there and do it. It doesn’t take long, you get to have your voice be heard, and you get a cool sticker to boot. So get to your local polling place (find a list here if you don’t know where to go) and place your vote. Do your part!
Where are you headed to vote? Did you get your sticker if you’ve already voted when you’re reading this? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter, check our Facebook page for daily updates, and, as always, be sure to follow us on Instagram for all the fire sneaker pictures you can handle.
