A$AP Bari’s “VLONE” Air Force I’s: Our Thoughts

We’re big A$AP Mob fans here at KicksOneTwo (Cozy Tapes has been in non-stop rotation since it dropped), and by association, we rock pretty heavy with A$AP Bari’s VLONE. The designs are simple but eye-catching, and the brand has all the right cosigns (let’s be honest, we all know how much that matters).

So as you can imagine, we were fairly excited when A$AP Bari teased a VLONE Air Force 1 … and even more excited when it was announced it would be an official collaborative release to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the AF1.

But what do we think of the shoe as a whole? We’ll do our best to set aside any and all hype and give an unbiased opinion. Let’s get right to it.

First off, the materials. The upper appears to be constructed a nice  tumbled leather, which appears to be better than regular AF1 leather, so that’s a good start.

As far as the details/styling of the shoe goes, it’s relatively simple. A clean black/orange colorway that’s nothing too crazy adorns the shoe, and the only branding is a VLONE “V” on the heel, and “Every Living Creature Dies Alone”  embroidered on the insole (but nobody will see that apart from you).

That’s about it. Nothing too crazy from Nike and VLONE here. It’s cool that Nike gave a 24 year old from Harlem a chance to collab on an iconic sneaker and Bari stuck true to his brand’s aesthetic, so we’ll co-sign them for that. There’s no official release date yet, but whenever these drop, you can bet they’ll sell out instantly.
