This past Tuesday, Logic announced his sophomore album, The Incredible True Story, via a short YouTube video. The video shows Logic in a sci-fi rocket ship enviroment, clad in a NASA-approved bomber, going off on a soundboard to one of the dopest beats I’ve heard in a while. The phrase, “I am the greatest” is repeated multiple times in the sampling of what is sure to be a banger of a track on the new album.
We’ve been waiting for this album announcement for a while now, so we’re very exited to hear that it’s going to be coming out sometime this fall.
This announcement comes approximately eleven months after the release of Under Pressure, Logic’s debut album. I regretfully say that I slept on this album BAD. I heard some buzz about Logic from Welcome To Forever but never really cared to listen to him. However, once I listened to it all the way through for the first time, I was sold. Not just on the album, but on Logic himself. I immediately downloaded all of his previous mixtapes and to this day they’re all still in constant rotation. I’m not exaggerating when I say I listen to Under Pressure all the way through at least once a day. Coincidentally, I’m halfway through the album as I write this.
Getting back to the video in which the album was announced, there was also a sneak peek at the “motion picture sci-fi epic.” As if the album announcement wasn’t enough. Right away I thought of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy from Kanye. If Logic can pull off a MBDTF-esque album long video, which I’m sure he can, we’re all in for a treat. This short film does seem to have more of a comedic take, however. Regardless of the genre and whether it’s comedic or not, I’m looking forward to watching it.
