The Toy Story x Vans Collab Brings Out The Kid In All Of Us

We’ve been writing about collabs a whole lot here at KicksOneTwo recently. Can you really blame us? The sneaker game has been getting blessed with a bunch of great ones recently, from the official Adidas x Bape announcement, to Kith x Captain Crunch. However, the collab we’re discussing today is special in its own way, and as 90’s babies we’d be remiss to not talk about it.

Toy Story x Vans. Classic Vans silhouettes, from the Sk-8 Hi to the Old Skool to the Authentic. There’s a lot of variety in this pack, and with all that variety comes a lot of memories.

Everyone who grew up in the 90’s watched Toy Story. Whether you were drawn to Buzz Lightyear’s “heroics”,  Woody’s good nature, or the goofy aliens, there’s a good chance you enjoyed the movies … and they had a lot more heart and meaning to them than might originally meet the eye.

So it’s only right that Vans did them justice with this recent collaborative effort. From the hand-scrawled “Andy” on the bottom of all the pairs, to the perfectly done color ways (Buzz Lightyear’s space suit and Woody’s cowboy jacket and hat are represented perfectly on their shoes), the attention to detail is on point in a way that few collabs manage to achieve. The little details are all there, and that’s what pushes a collab from good to great.

No matter what your favorite thing about Toy Story is, there’s something for you here. Be sure to re-watch the movies before October 7th (the release date for all the shoes) … and get to your local Vans store fast on that day. We have a feeling these won’t last very long.
