WE TOLD YOU: The Nike Vapormax Is A Hit

We told you.

Sorry, had to say it one more time. We CALLED it that the Nike Vapormax would be a hit. Called it on January 14th to be specific, a solid six weeks ago. And what’s happened now? Yeah, you guessed it. It’s a hit.

When we said it would be a competitor to the famed Ultra Boost, adidas’s flagship running model, we could practically hear the scoffs and feel the angry fingers typing out tweets and messages on phone and computer keyboards. How dare we say that a Nike shoe could compete with the Ultra Boos, the creme de la creme of premium running models.

Well, it did. Nike marketed it wonderfully, putting together one of the best (if not the very best) buildups to Air Max Day that we’ve ever seen, culminating with a surprise Travis Scott performance, a Sean Wotherspoon-designed Air Max 97 and 1 hybrid, and a fresh batch of hype surrounding their newest and most technologically advanced Air Max ever.

They dropped, they sold, and they were hyped up. It’s too early in the running to tell if they’ll be a long-term viable competitor to the Ultra Boost just yet, but they’re well on their way … just like we told you they would be. Don’t doubt us … we know our stuff, and Nike knows their Air Max, and what the people want. We’ll be seeing them all over the place this summer, and don’t be surprised if you see a pair or two on our feet.

What do you think of the Vapormax?
