If you grew up in the 90’s, there are certain things that were undeniably a part of your childhood. Saturday morning cartoons. Backyard Sports computer games. Having to call your homies on the house phone when you wanted to kick it. Yeah, the 90’s were a great time to be a kid, and there’s a good chance that you tromped through at least a part of them with a pair of Airwalks on your feet.
That’s right, Airwalk. The skate shoe brand that was the coolest of the cool, and then wound up in Payless Shoe Source, essentially completely folding. You never thought you’d see them again, did you? Well, they’re back.
The classic Airwalk One is back in the loud iridescent color pictured above, as well as a black/white and an all black pair too. They’re available at a few different retailers, so if you’re willing to poke around a bit, you can relive your childhood all you want. We can’t lie, getting a fit off with a pair of Airwalks all the way up in 2017 would be quite impressive.
Will we be copping? Nah. As funny as it is to see a classic shoe like the Airwalk One make a re-apperance, they fell from the height of cool for a reason, and we believe it’s better to just let the past be the past sometimes. They’re cool to see, but they belong in the 90’s, not the 10’s. We couldn’t blame you if you wanted to cop though … nostalgia is a powerful thing.
