Top 5 Sneaker Releases This Weekend

After yesterday’s quick expedition into the world of fashion, we’re back to the kicks, and it’s a busy weekend (including today) with several releases! Here’s the top 5 in my opinion, in order.

5. Neighborhood x Adidas Consortium Superstar

The folks at Neighborhood and Adidas Consortium came together to put a little spin on the classic Superstar. A black reptile-style leather adorns the upper with white accents and the Neighborhood logo embossed in white on the heel.

4. Asics Gel Lyte V “Army Green/Tweed”

Originally only available at Sneakersnstuff, this Gel Lyte V colorway will reach more doors this weekend. With a tweed and army green upper, it’s a somewhat polarizing look, but one that is great for the tail end of winter/early spring.

3. Nike Foamposite One “Tianjin”

Although Nike has been going somewhat….well, very overboard with off-the-wall printed Foamposites these last few years, the “Tianjin” model is a different story. Paying homage to the Chinese metropolis with the classic artwork on the upper, these will only be available in China.

2. Concepts x New Balance 997 “Luxury Goods”

The run of successful collaborations between Concepts and New Balance continues with the release of this 997. Dubbed the “Luxury Goods” edition, it takes inspiration from Hermes bags with the luxury orange upper, and the top-notch quality and construction.

1. Jordan Retro I “Laser”

It would be flat-out wrong to put any other sneaker in the top spot this weekend. With crazy leather embossing, a 3M swoosh, and an icy outsole, and paying homage to the 30th anniversary of Jordan Brand, the Jordan I “Laser” easily takes the top spot this weekend.

That’ll do it for this weekend’s top 5 sneaker releases (in my opinion). Think I’m spot on? Think I got it all wrong? Feel free to let me know in the comments, or hit me on Twitter!
