For today’s Kick Pic, we bring you a snap of some OG Bred XI’s courtesy of our friends at Studiiyo23.
You read it right. The good folks over at Studiiyo23 won a “Best Of Minneapolis” award in the fashion category from the Minneapolis Award Program. Awards are given out every year to businesses that have achieved “exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category”. The full press release is available here if you’d like to read it.
This a big deal for our still-growing local sneaker community. The fact that a shop that’s so invested in our community has won an award that spans all of Minneapolis bodes very well for our future, and helps us stake our claim as an excellent sneaker scene.
Hypothetical situation: Your house/apartment is burning down. If you live with anyone else, they’ve gotten out safe, and you’ve taken most of your stuff out with you…except for your shoes. And you’re running low on time. Like really low on time. You’ve got just enough time to go back in and get three pairs of your kicks out. What would you take? Well, if I could only save three shoes out of my whole collection, these are the shoes that I’d pick.

The more the better. That seems to be what most sneaker collectors say. The more rare kicks you have in your collection, the better it is. 50 pairs? 100 pairs? 500 pairs? 1000+ pairs? No big deal. Keep racking the shoes up.
However, a question arises: Is there such a thing as too many sneakers? Can you reach a point where you have an excessive amount? It’s not out of the question, but when do you know things are getting out of hand?
Let’s start by looking at Jon Hundreds, brother of The Hundreds co-founder Bobby Hundreds. Jon is known for his massive sneaker collection, and if you haven’t heard of him (or checked out his sneaker-heavy Instagram page), here’s a 2-part episode of Sneak Peek that he was featured in to bring you up to speed.

A few weeks have gone by since the last post, and I figured it was about time to bring you up to speed on what I’ve been up to writing-wise recently.
First off I’m still writing for Karmaloop. I’ve cranked out more articles in the last few weeks, and I’ve got a free pair of New Balance coming my way from them (gotta love free kicks, right?)
Secondly, I’m still trying to explore more and more ideas as far as writing goes. If there are any articles you’d like to see or you’d like me to write a think piece on any topic, feel free to hit me up and let me know. After all, I aim to please.
For today’s Kick Pic, we bring you a snap of Ross rocking the Jordan IX “Slim Jenkins”.
