Best Of Both Worlds: The Jordan x Converse 2-Pair Pack Will Be Dope

Jordan and Converse. Two brands that fall on opposite ends of the spectrum … but both started out serving the same market. Both were originally manufactured as athletic shoes, and both have branched out to become much more. Both have iconic models and loyal fanbases, and on the business side, both are owned by Nike.

One thing they have in common that you might not know about? Their association with Michael Jordan. That’s right, MJ used to wear Converse while he was at North Carolina, hitting his iconic championship-winning shot in a pair of Pro Leathers. He’s got history with more than one brand, believe it or not. Jordan even came together with Converse for a limited-edition Pro Leather in 2012 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the historic shot. read more

Forget Yeezys: 4 Heat Pairs Of VaporMax Drop Today

Over the past few weeks, we’ve expressed our growing disdain for the Yeezy 350 Boost here at KicksOneTwo.

Sure, we’ll still report on the releases and cover you with any news and updates because, well … let’s face it: the 350 Boost is still the most popular shoe on the market today, and we can’t deny that the white joints coming out this weekend are extremely clean.

However, we’re tired of all the hype, and frankly are completely ready to move on to the net thing … and we can’t help but believe some (if not most) of you are too. Well, go ahead and forget all about the Yeezys … four great VaporMax are dropping today. read more

The Pure Money IV Could Be The Shoe Of The Summer

When summer comes around, it’s extremely important that your sneaker game is right. Transitioning from fits you’d wear in the colder months with more layers and darker colors to simpler summer fits with lighter colors and less layers can prove challenging. You’ve got less to wear, so you need to make it count.

Thankfully, it looks like Jordan Brand will have you covered all this summer, as they’re re-releasing one of the best Jordan IV’s of all time, the “Pure Money”. We haven’t seen them since 2010 … and we’ve got to say: we’re extremely excited to see them again, as they’re returning at the perfect time. read more

We Really Hope This Isn’t The Yeezy Boost 650

We’re sitting here in a state of dismay.

You know that feeling you get when you see something you really don’t like? That odd pit in your stomach? Well that’s what we’re dealing with right now after we saw supposed leaked images of a Yeezy 650 Boost.

We’re normally pretty skeptical of these “leaked images”, as there’s a lot of fake news (both in sneakers and otherwise) on the internet, and stuff like this is often not true, but we’ve got to say … these unfortunately look legit. And by legit, we mean they look like an overgrown rat. They’re large and bulbous, and any charm that was given by the oversize sole on the lowtop 350’s is completely eliminated by the horrible mid-top collar. read more

TODAY: TCSAX 9 At The Cabooze

It’s that time of year again. A time that only comes around twice every 365 days, once in the fall and once in the spring. The 9th edition of TCSAX (Twin City Sneaker Art Xchange), Studiiyo23’s long-running sneaker exchange will be taking over the Cabooze from 12-6 PM today to bring you a sneaker and art experience like none other.

$12 will get you in the door, and will bring you all the sneakers, clothes, art, music, and more that you can handle, plus you can bring three pairs of your own kicks to buy, sell, or trade (we hear you might even be able to get beer at the Cabooze bar too). There will be plenty of great vendors, from sneakerheads with their own tables to local brands plying their wares and it’s one of the few times a year that the whole community gets together, so you’ll have a chance to both see familiar faces and meet new ones. read more

The Air Max Plus Has Grown Up

Air Max frenzy is still just as real as it was in February and March. Air Max Day is almost a month behind us already, but the hype for Nike’s most famous technology hasn’t died down one bit yet as evidenced by the hype behind the Silver Bullet 97’s and other Nike Sportswear releases.

One Air Max that’s always been somewhat of a cult favorite (especially with the roadman set) is the Air Max Plus. The slightly goofy yet somewhat futuristic design has always had a following, and has usually been released in loud and crazy or simple monochromatic colorways. read more

It’s Official: The “Cream White” Yeezy 350 Boost V2’s Are Dropping April 29th

Yeezy SZN (and the madness that always surrounds it) is almost upon us again. Ever since the announcement of the “Cream White” 350 Boost V2, the sneaker interwebs have been going nuts … but now we’ve got an official date, so you can expect things to be ramped up to the next level.

April 29th is the official date, and as before the shoes will be priced at $220 for adult’s sizes and $140 for infant sizes. It appears as if the “Cream White” jawns will be more readily available than the last few Yeezy 350 Boost releases too, as more stores than usual will be participating in the adidas Confirmed App raffle. read more

Lend A Hand: Help Out Our Friend Matt

Here in the Twin Cities, we’ve got a tight-knit sneaker/streetwear community. Everybody knows everybody, and everyone tries to help out when misfortune befalls someone in the community. Unfortunately, misfortune struck our good friend Matt (or LMNO as many call him), the store manager at Phenom (a Minneapolis streetwear/sneaker shop) earlier this week, as he was stabbed while at work. Anyone who knows Matt will tell you he’s a stand-up guy. He loves his kicks and gear, is always quick with a smile and a dap, and he’s someone you can always count on for a good conversation. What happened to him is terrible. He had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery, and will likely be away from work for quite a while. Matt’s Phenom family has set up a GoFundMe to help him with his expenses while he recovers (as we all know, life doesn’t stop for anything), and any amount you can spare would be a great help. Matt’s a father, brother, and good friend, and could use a hand in this situation. Hit the link here to check out Matt’s GoFundMe, and donate if you can. Trust us when we say it couldn’t be going to help out a better person. We’re happy to help out in any way we can too, so we’ll be donating a portion of our profits from this next week to the GoFundMe as well. Get well soon Matt! Our thoughts are with you. -KicksOneTwo

Nike: The Real Winner At The Boston Marathon

The 121st edition of the Boston Marathon was ran this week … and like usual it was an event to remember. From the first woman to ever run in the marathon running again 50 years later to a veteran with a prosthetic leg crossing the finish line, there was a lot to be remembered.

Unfortunately for the event’s sponsor adidas, there’s probably more that they want to forget.

For starters, they sent out a completely tone-deaf email to everyone who finished the marathon that stated “you survived”. You’d think that someone in their marketing department might have pointed out that may have not been the best idea … but they’ve got to hold an L on that one. read more
