2015 Sneaker Resolutions

I’m normally not a big fan of New Year’s resolutions. I feel that if something is truly important to you in life, you can resolved to do it at any time you choose, be it March 17th or November 3rd.

With that being said, I’m still going to be making resolutions of a certain kind this year. They’re not really life decisions, they’re sneaker decisions. With all the different ways the sneaker industry is branching out, you’ve gotta keep everything in perspective to make sure your sneaker game is tight, so here’s what I’m going to be aiming to do with my kicks in 2o15.

Explore Different Brands

Although I’ve got love for Nike and Jordan, I’m looking to expand my horizons even more in 2015. I enjoyed wearing Puma and Saucony a lot last year, and I want to try to dip into different brands, from upstarts like Greats to new high-end labels like Filling Pieces.

Make Sure My Pinroll and Cuff Game is On Point

Although some may say it’s a winter thing only, as far as I’m concerned cuffing season is year round. You’ve gotta ensure your cuffing and pinrolling skills are top-notch so you can show off your kicks more. I prefer slim denim to jogger pants, so it’s important that I work on improving my pinrolls and cuffs.

Help Others Get Into Shoes

I can’t lie, sometimes it’s difficult to not have a “get off my lawn” attitude when it comes to the sneaker game. It’s hard to not get frustrated sometimes when someone struts around like the cock of the walk pretending like they know everything about shoes because they just dropped a cool $500 at Flight Club.

However, not all new sneakerheads are like that. Most want to get into the game for the same reason we all did, because they think it’s awesome to walk around with a fresh pair of kicks on feet. If they like that feeling and want to learn more about the history and culture of sneakers, it’s our duty to help them learn. I’m going to make a point of trying to be as helpful as possible to these folks in 2015.

Wear Everything in My Collection

It’s finally the year. In 2015, I’m going to resolve to wear every pair in my collection at least one time. I don’t really sit on shoes much, but I do have a few pairs that I haven’t worn yet, and I intend to break out everything I own. Who knows, maybe I’ll even try and do a “different pair every day” challenge. Gotta keep it fresh.

So those are my 4 main sneaker resolutions for 2015. Do you have anything you’re looking forwards to doing in the sneaker game this year? If so, leave a comment or let us know on Twitter!
