The Roshe Run: Alternative Options.

As a recent graduate from its hallowed halls, I can say that Anoka High School has always been behind on fashion trends. From camo shorts to joggers, it always takes Anokans a while to catch on. The biggest example comes from a couple years ago when the Roshe Run started getting big. I remember hearing all about how comfy the shoe was and how it was a “must cop” due to its versatility and dope yet simple design.

Being the hypebeast that I am, I gave in and copped my first pair. I was one of the very first, if not the first, to have a pair of Roshe’s at Anoka. Today if you were to walk through the halls during a school day, it would be hard to not see somebody wearing a pair.

Fast forwards a few years. I’ve grown to dislike the Roshe Run more and more every day. A part of this might be due to the fact that so many people have them now. Granted, it is a real solid shoe, but the amount of people that wear them everyday is staggering.

Another reason that my dislike for the Roshe is growing is because there are so many better options as far as comfortable, dope sneakersĀ go.

When I first bought my Roshe Runs, I bought them as a comfortable, everyday shoe. Now that I’ve worn them quite a bit, I find that they aren’t very comfortable at all. Maybe I just need to put a new sole in, but it is disappointing nonetheless. However, I do still wear my Roshe’s, and I’m not trying to knock how they look at all, but I believe there are many better alternatives.

Nike Free Flyknit 3.0

– Super comfortable shoe that is very minimal and more sock-like compared to the Roshe Run.

Jordan Eclipse

– A more structured version of the Roshe Run. Air-Sole unit in the heel!

Adidas Climachill Rocket Boost

– Climachill and Boost technologies keep your feet cool and comfy, and make this shoe a must-own.

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350

– AWW, YEEZY YEEZY, HOW YOU DO IT, HUH?!? You’re probably not going to be able to pay the crazy prices this shoe is selling for, but with a sock-like upper and full length Boost foam…they’re a dream come true when it comes to comfort….and they’re very rare.

You now know of four alternatives to the Nike Roshe Run. (Three if you don’t count the Yeezy’s, but with the all-black pair releasing soon, I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt). In addition to this list, shoes such as the Asics Gel Lyte V, Nike Air Pegasus, and Adidas ZX Flux make the list of shoes that aren’t very similar to the Roshe Run but could be possible alternatives as a comfortable, everyday shoe. No disrespect to Team Roshe, but it might be time for some of you to do some shopping!
