It’s finally Friday, and we’ve got a weekend full of heat ahead of us. It seems that almost every major footwear brand has something special cooked up for today and tomorrow…so the time is right for us to give you our top 5 sneaker releases this weekend. Let’s get right to it.
5. Nike Air Trainer Cruz “Wolf Grey”-Saturday, $140
Although the KicksOneTwo staff wasn’t sold on the Air Trainer Cruz right off the bat (there was even an article expressing our initial dislike for it), but now that we’ve had a chance to check it out in person, we’ve done a complete 180. The “Haystack” pair was a staff favorite, and Nike has come correct again with the “Wolf Grey” colorway. The simple grey upper with hits of red work nicely with the speckled black midsole and white outsole, and the premium leather liner tops it all off.
4. Jordan XI “72-10”-Saturday, $220
We’re not fans of how the XI release makes sneakerheads behave every year, but we can’t deny that this year’s installment is fire. The premium leather upper, stitched “23” on the heel, and special patch on the inner tongue make the “72-10’s” the best XI release of the last few years…significantly better than the “Legend Blues” and the “Gammas”.
3. Bape x Puma Disc Blaze-Saturday, $150
Every shoe that’s part of Bape and Puma’s recent collaborative effort is fire, but the black/grey Disc Blaze is our favorite, edging out the camo Disc Blaze by a slim margin. The subtle, monochromatic Bape camo pattern on the upper works great with the speckled midsole, and this solid and simple color palate will work all winter long..and well into the spring.
2. Stussy Air Max 95 “Olive”-Friday, $N/A
Stussy and Nike came together for a FIRE pack of three Air Max 95’s, all with white midsoles and monochromatic uppers. As much as we’d love to put all three on here, we could only pick one, and that one is the “Olive” colorway. You don’t see a ton of dope olive sneakers, so thanks are due to Nike and Stussy for putting together a banger for us.
1. PSNY Jordan XII-Saturday, $300
In a weekend full of fire collabs, the PSNY Jordan XII’s take the top spot. This all slate-grey sneaker is a masterful example of a simple yet beautiful shoe…and rumor has it that the upper is so buttery you need lotion to keep it from getting ashy. If you manage to cop these, make sure to throw on your best fit when you wear them, because anything else just wouldn’t be doing them justice.
