Let’s be 100% honest: most sneakerheads don’t like reading books a whole hell of a lot. They can’t remember the last time they sat down and cracked one open, and they’d much rather do their reading (if they choose to at all) online.

Thankfully we bring you high quality online content at 8 AM every single day…I’m sorry, I digress. This article isn’t a shameless KicksOneTwo plug.

Today we’re talking about books. 5 books to be specific. They’re all about sneakers or sneaker culture, and if you love shoes you’ve got to check them out, as they might just expand your horizons. Without further ado, here’s 5 must-read books for sneakerheads.

1. Sneaker Wars: The Enemy Brothers Who Founded Adidas and Puma and the Family Feud That Forever Changed the Business of Sport

Did you know Rudolph and Adi Dassler (the founders of Puma and Adidas, respectively) were brothers who splintered and each went on to lead one of the biggest footwear companies in the world? Check this book out, and you’ll learn their fascinating backstories as well as gain a greater understanding for the politics/shameless capitalism of the sneaker world.

1. Art & Sole: Contemporary Sneaker Art & Design

If you love art just as much as you love sneakers, this is the book for you. It features all kinds of crazy sneaker-inspired art and designs from all over the world, both from artists you’ve heard of and names that won’t ring a bell. Hands-down the most artistic book on this list.

3. Sneakers: The Complete Collector’s Guide

Although a new edition of this book entitled “Sneakers: The Complete Limited Editions Guide” was published in 2014, we enjoy the 2005 version pictured above more. Why’s that, you may ask? Any and every classic shoe ever is in here (not just limited pairs), with rich photographs and great descriptions. Be ready to experience great nostalgia when you check this book out.

4. Slam Kicks: Basketball Sneakers That Changed The Game

Nobody’s more of an authority on basketball or basketball sneakers than Slam, and if you ever wondered what the story behind your favorite basketball shoes was, Slam’s got you covered from the Jordan I to the Reebok Question. A must-read for any hoops fan.

5: All Gone: The Finest Of Street Culture 2015

Although the All Gone series doesn’t just focus on sneakers (they cover everything from clothes to toys as well), they recap the best sneakers of the past year in an elegant and unique fashion. This year marks ten for the series, and if you’re lucky you might be able to find a 10-year commemorative box set lying around. If not, the 2015 book will get the job done. You’ll have a great time revisiting all the fire jawnz that dropped last year, and if you’re lucky you’ll see something you own in the book’s pages.
