The Adidas NMD Runner Is The Shoe Of The Moment

It’s gearing up to be a big summer for Adidas. They’ve got a bunch of new lifestyle shoes dropping. More Kanye footwear should be hitting shelves soon. Superstars and Stan Smiths can be spotted all over the place. They’re winning. But out of all their models, nothing has captured the moment quite like the NMD Runner.

The price is reasonable. They’re relatively easy to get your hands on with a little work and not a ton of cash (unlike the Yeezy 350 Boost, the other shoe of the moment, which is hard to find and prohibitively expensive). They come in a wide swath of colors. They’re comfortable. They work with any outfit. They’re a great throw on and go shoe. With summer right around the corner, they’ll only become more popular.

It’s reminiscent of the success enjoyed by the Roshe Run a few years back, in that they’re both sneakers that were produced in mass quantities…but still sold out everywhere. When Roshes were hot, it was extremely difficult to find pairs. The same goes for the NMDs now, as some models fetch upwards of $300 on the resell market.

The shoe started out innocently enough, with limited runs selling out..which is to be expected. But a few weeks back, when Adidas dropped a myriad of colors in vast quantities and they still flew off the shelves like nothing, that’s when the sneaker world was truly put on notice: the NMD Runner is truly the shoe of the moment.

Will the hype continue through the summer and into the fall? We’ll have to see, but the shoe’s popularity is astounding, the design is dope, and the momentum behind them doesn’t seem to slowing down one bit. So get your pairs ready. Summer’s right around the corner.
