Back again. Round 11.
It’s been a little over a month since the last edition of Sunday Sneaker Ramblings, so it’s high time I checked back in with ya’ll and shared my unfiltered thoughts on what went down in sneakers the past week. Both Adidas and Jordan had things booming (and Reebok made some noise too), so without further ado…we’ll jump right into it. Let’s begin the 11th edition of Sunday Sneaker Ramblings.
Adidas continued their roll with the release of the AlphaBOUNCE, which flew off of shelves, both IRL and on the web as soon as it released on Wednesday…and Kanye hasn’t even worn it yet. Adidas’s roll seems to be going just as strong as ever. They’re hot right now, and they’re giving the people what they want while continuing to innovate. Props to them. Personally, I really like these. We’ll see what the other color ways are all about, but these have an almost fish-like look to them (do they look like scales to anyone else?), which is supremely wavy.
Jordan’s never one to be outdone when it comes to news, and these woolen XII’s are sure to be a hit when the cooler months roll around. A winterized retro? What’s not to love? These will be a welcome respite from my Timberlands in the cold months. It’s frustrating when you have 100+ pairs, and you have to rotate through the same 2-3 pairs of boots because you don’t want to fuck your good shoes up. These can get tossed right in the winter rotation, as they look like they’re meant to take a beating.
Last but definitely not least, the rapper with the highest batting average in the game today (yeah, I said it), Mr. Kendrick Lamar has joined forces with Reebok once again for his latest collaborative effort. The stitch down the center of the shoe is a great touch, and they’re even available in kids sizes, so you can deck your little ones out in Kendrick’s latest. These are both brazy (shouts out YG, go check out his new album), but the red pair takes the cake for me. Too clean.
