What I’ve Been Doing Recently Part II

A few weeks have gone by since the last post, and I figured it was about time to bring you up to speed on what I’ve been up to writing-wise recently.

First off I’m still writing for Karmaloop. I’ve cranked out more articles in the last few weeks, and I’ve got a free pair of New Balance coming my way from them (gotta love free kicks, right?)

Secondly, I’m still trying to explore more and more ideas as far as writing goes. If there are any articles you’d like to see or you’d like me to write a think piece on any topic, feel free to hit me up and let me know. After all, I aim to please. read more

What I’ve Been Doing Recently

It’s Easter Sunday, and as everyone’s at home relaxing (unless you’re in the service industry…sorry), I figured that now is as good of a time as any for a quick recap of what I’ve been up to recently.

In case you haven’t checked the site recently, or you don’t follow me on social media (which you should, I like to think I’m pretty funny), I’ve been writing for Karmaloop‘s blog KLX recently.

It’s been a lot of fun. It’s enjoyable to have to write from a significantly different point of view, and although it’s very difficult, I’d say that it’s made me a much better writer. Plus I get free gear. Can’t complain about that, right? read more

You’ve Gotta See The New Episode Of Sneak Peek

If you’ve been watching Nice Kicks‘s popular series “Sneak Peek”, you probably haven’t been thrilled by the season as a whole, as some episodes have been less than inspired. You can only see so many customs and Jordans before you’re hankering for something new.

Fear not! The new episode harkens to the good old days of Sneak Peek, as the crew visits Phase2‘s house. Known for his crazy sample collection, he doesn’t let the viewer down. Check out the video below and there’s a good chance you’ll see some shoes you’ve never seen before. read more

Ron Artest Has Been Biting Jeremy Scott

If you watch basketball, or even if you don’t, you probably know who Ron Artest is. The former Buls, Pacers, Kings, Rockets, and Knicks swingman and 2004 defensive player of the year now goes by Metta World Peace, and is playing basketball professionally in China.

What does this have to do with sneakers, you might ask? A few days ago, Artest revealed the sneakers that he’d be wearing this upcoming season. See for yourself below.

Look familiar? The bear head on the tongue and the arms sticking out from the upper are very similar to Jeremy Scott’s JS Bear series of sneakers. Artest (sidenote: his legal name is Metta World Peace, but we here at KicksOneTwo still refer to him as Ron Artest) has recently started referring to himself as “Panda Friend”, and now apparently insists on his kicks reflecting his new self-imposed nickname. read more

Thoughts On This Weekend’s Releases

It’s a pretty diverse release weekend we have upon us here. From the triple-black Foamposite to the new Flyknit Roshes, there’s something for almost everyone dropping this weekend. Here’s my thoughts on my top 5 kicks (in order) that released yesterday or are releasing this weekend.

Honorable Mention: Nike Air Foamposite 1 “Black Suede

All-black kicks are always a solid move in the fall and winter months, and these triple-black foams are hard to go wrong with. Although they aren’t quite as dope as the “Stealth” foams, these should still find a place in the collection of many foam-heads. read more
