Supreme’s “Sale” To LVMH: Shameless Clickbait

Supreme, Louis Vuitton, and LVMH (the conglomerate that owns LV, Hennessy, Sephora and more) have all been in the news a lot lately. It’s understandable: When Supreme and Louis Vuitton came together, it moved mountains. It was a cultural moment of such magnitude that we couldn’t blame you for thinking that it was fake when the news first broke.

Thankfully, it wasn’t fake. But something that would have been just as earth-shattering that’s been making the rounds on the web these past few days is fake. read more

The SF-AF1 Has Grown On Us

We’ll come right out and admit it: we were pretty harsh critics of the Nike SF-AF1 when it first came out. We thought the chunky, super-high top look and earth tone colorways were a ham-handed attempt to cash in on the Yeezy boot craze, and we though that Nike saying they were inspired by military equipment was flat-out lame. We were hating so hard we even wrote an article about our general distaste for the shoe.

It’s been a few months now, and as mature, responsible adults (most of the time at least. “Don’t grow up, just glow up” is a phrase we try to live by), we can admit when we’re wrong … and we were wrong about the SF-AF1. read more

A Classic Reimagined: The adidas Superstar Bounce Primeknit

The adidas Superstar. One of the most classic athletic sneakers ever made. A favorite of multiple generations, cultures, and unique individuals. A shoe that has staying power that other kicks only dream of (do sneakers dream? If so we’d assume it’s about staying power. Or maybe being cleaned. Apologies, we digress). A sneaker that just received a super-ill, futuristic update.

Unlike the also-released Superstar Boost that keeps most of its original shape and detailing, the Superstar Bounce Primeknit offers a sleek, futuristic look made possible by an all-Primeknit upper (except for the classic rubber toe cap of course), and a Bounce midsole for upgraded comfort and support. read more

Chill With The Yeezy Customs

Custom shoes have always been a part of the sneaker game. As soon as the first enterprising artist picked up a brush and made the smallest change to a sneaker they were locked in, and over the years we’ve seen a lot of customs from great (Mache’s Iron Man LeBrons) to the terrible (unfortunately there’s too many to list).

However, the new thing seems to be customizing Yeezys, and we’re of the opinion that it’s gone way too far. It’s not cute nor clever to slap a fake designer logo or print on a pair (we’re looking at you CDG and Bape customs), and these recently-premered Kaws customs are the very worst of the bunch. read more

No All-Star Kicks? No Problem

It’s the end of an era for Nike Basketball in some ways.

They officially announced this week that they wouldn’t be releasing any special All-Star edition footwear for this year’s NBA All-Star game in New Orleans. Although this came as a surprise to many a sneakerhead (including us), we’re not disagreeing with the decision.

Let’s flash back to 2012 when Nike Basketball was the hottest thing on the market. The Galaxy Foamposite and Zoom Rookie had the Swoosh’s basketball department more gassed than ever, and although the shoes kept getting more technical and the prices kept getting higher, rabid consumers continued to snap them up like it was nothing. read more

Is The Ultra Boost Market Getting Oversaturated?

We love Ultra Boosts here at KicksOneTwo. They’re dope. They’re comfy. They go great with both pants and shorts. They’ve become an essential pair in many a sneakerhead’s rotation … and for good reason. They’re avalible in a myriad of colors, and both with and without a cage (the three plastic stripes on the side for those of you who aren’t as familiar).

But with a new Ultra Boost coming out seemingly every weekend we’ve got to ask ourselves: Is the ultra boost market getting oversaturated? read more

The First Official Images Of The Black/Red V2’s Are Upon Us

We’ve enjoyed a nice little break through January, but Yeezy madness will be striking us again in a little under two weeks.

The next Yeezy 350 Boost V2 drops on the 11th of February, and the first official images just hit the Internet yesterday. We’ve all already seen the shoe at this point, but getting some more in depth and detailed shots is never a bad thing. We’re a firm believer that you can’t pass a judgement on a shoe until you’ve seen it from every angle, and now with these images, our judgement has been passed. read more

Are There Too Many Yeezy Boost V2’s?

The Yeezy 350 Boost v2. One of the most influential sneakers of 2016. A favorite of hypebeasts, Kanye stans, and adidas fans the world over. A shoe that’s clean, comfy, and collectable. Yeah, it’s gassed.

But they’re not without their faults, and today we’re wondering: are there too many V2’s?

We know, we know. Hold your indignation. Don’t get your Supreme boxer briefs in a bunch. We know Kanye’s the current god of this sneaker game and he can do no wrong in your opinion. Trust us, we understand where you’re coming from … but hear us out for a second. read more

Ultra Boost Cleats>Yeezy Cleats

Nobody’s doing footwear-to-cleat crossovers quite as well as adidas right now.

When the Yeezy cleats released back in December, the Internet went nuts. Blogs from the sneaker and sports world (including us) fell all over themselves reporting about the cleats, the subsequent fines players like DeAndre Hopkins received for wearing them, and their release to the public. The Yeezy cleat was a somewhat historic moment, and one of the more interesting occurrences in sneakers during 2016.

But the new Ultra Boost cleats are their superior, both in looks and likely in performance. read more

Flyknit & Primeknit Do Not Always A Winner Make

Flyknit and Primeknit. Adidas and Nike’s most technologically advanced knit materials. One’s been around for a little while (Flyknit), and one was introduced a touch over two years ago (Primeknit). Both offer lightweight comfort and support with a healthy dose of athletic style thrown in, and both have a rabid following that occasionally overlaps.

We love Flyknit and Primeknit, and are glad to have shoes made with both materials in our collections. However, we’ve got a PSA of sorts for you today: Flyknit and Primeknit aren’t a winner on every shoe. read more
