Three For #3: Allen Iverson’s 3 Best Signature Shoes

Allen Iverson was elected into the Hall of Fame this week. One of the best to ever do it, he was beloved by basketball fans around the world for his skill, his heart, and his attitude. He received the highest personal honor a basketball player can earn, and he fully deserves it.

But he wasn’t just loved for what he did on the court…he was also loved for his dope signature footwear that left an impact on sneakerheads everywhere. So we’re honoring AI in the best way we know today…by ranking his three best signature shoes. Put on your shooting sleeve and your headband, we’re getting right to it.

Honorable Mention: Answer VII

Reebok-Answer-7-1

A shoe that doesn’t get as much love as it should, the Answer VII was a low, lightweight, comfy shoe that came in several dope color ways, including a green/yellow pair, paying homage to Bethel, AI’s high school. (It’s also one of the shoes that got Ross into sneakers as a whole, so you could say we’re a little biased)

3.  Answer

AI’s second-ever shoe, the Answer I brought a lot of new things to the table, introducing both the classic I3 logo, and DMX cushioning. Both the in-line models (with just a little patent leather), and the limited editions (covered in patent leather) were dope top to bottom, and still gain approving nods from AI fans today.

2. Answer IV

Out of all his signature shoes, AI did the most in the sleek, low-profile Answer IV’s, winning the scoring title and the NBA MVP award, all while leading an undermanned Sixers squad to the Finals, where they put up a valiant fight before eventually falling to the Shaq-and-Kobe lead Lakers.

1. Question

Was it ever really a question that these would be #1 on this list? The answer (terrible puns totally intended) is no. Absolutely not. One of Reebok’s most iconic shoes ever, the Question was almost a finished product before AI even signed with Reebok..and he made it legendary with his performance during his rookie season (in which he won the ROY award, of course). The toecap and giant Hexalite bubbles on the side are recognized and appreciated anywhere. and this is a shoe that’s still feverishly collected today.
