Sunday Sneaker Ramblings Vol. XI
Back again. Round 11.
It’s been a little over a month since the last edition of Sunday Sneaker Ramblings, so it’s high time I checked back in with ya’ll and shared my unfiltered thoughts on what went down in sneakers the past week. Both Adidas and Jordan had things booming (and Reebok made some noise too), so without further ado…we’ll jump right into it. Let’s begin the 11th edition of Sunday Sneaker Ramblings.
Adidas continued their roll with the release of the AlphaBOUNCE, which flew off of shelves, both IRL and on the web as soon as it released on Wednesday…and Kanye hasn’t even worn it yet. Adidas’s roll seems to be going just as strong as ever. They’re hot right now, and they’re giving the people what they want while continuing to innovate. Props to them. Personally, I really like these. We’ll see what the other color ways are all about, but these have an almost fish-like look to them (do they look like scales to anyone else?), which is supremely wavy.

O Canada: Canadian Brands Are Killing The Game
Canada. The land of hockey, Tim Horton’s, Aubrey Graham “Eh”, and some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. However, Canada’s got more to offer than pucks, coffee and pastries, pop-rap, and funny sayings…they’ve also got some of the most fire clothing you’ll find anywhere in the world. From Naked and Famous’s world-class denim, to Canada Goose’s warm, puffy jackets, to Herschel Supply Co’s bags that you see on every street corner to OVO’s owl-branded tees and hoodies, Canada has a solid foothold in the fashion game. Those are four heavy hitters that everyone knows about…but they’re not all Canada has to offer. Here’s a few of our favorite Canadian brands you may not have heard of, and a little bit of knowledge about them.

No Laces Necessary: The 5 Best Sandals For This Summer
Summer. A time for style adaptation. It’s hot (and sometimes humid) out, and you don’t have access to your full wardrobe like you might in the colder months. But guess what? This is a good thing. It gives you an opportunity to take risks and try new things with your style…and one thing that you should try this summer is rocking some dope sandals.
We’re not talking about Birkenstocks (that’s too easy and too many hipsters wear them anyway), and we’re not talking about thong sandals (there’s really never any excuse for wearing a pair of thong sandals), we’re talking about dope slides and strap sandals, from the very cheap to the extremely expensive. Without further ado, here’s the 5 best sandals for this summer.

Gosha Rubchinskiy Has Done It Again
When it comes to designers nowadays, there’s nobody hotter than Gosha Rubchinskiy. His signature graphics, like his “Flag” tee and his “CNOPT” sweater are recognizable from a mile away, and with cosigns from style icons like the A$AP Mob, Gosha’s not going to be going anywhere any time soon.
Yesterday, the premier of his S/S ’17 line hit the web, and as you might have expected, everyone went nuts. His signature aesthetic was clear in his pieces, and it looked to be another successful season’s work. But that wasn’t all.

Bape x Adidas NMD: Is It Actually Going Down?
There’s nothing sneaker heads, hypebeasts, and collectors all over the world love more than a good collab. When two brands come together to create a dope product everyone gets excited…even more so when it’s two of the hottest brands out, like Adidas and Bape.
If you haven’t already heard the rumors swirling around on the web, Adidas and Bape are supposedly linking up for a collaborative NMD Runner (arguably the hottest shoe out right now), and a line of co-branded apparel. It’s mostly speculation at this point, but SneakerBarDetroit has gotten their hands on what they claim are “leaked images” of the shoe

The Roast Of Steph Curry’s “Chef Curry” Lows
Steph Curry. The NBA’s man of the moment. The back-to-back MVP and soon to be back-to-back NBA Finals champion (come on now, we all know the Cavs aren’t coming back, as much as we may want them to) is by far the most popular basketball player in the world right now. He’s so popular that he even managed to make Under Armor relevant in the basketball world with his signature shoes, the Curry 1 and 2. Â But even the great Steph Curry is not immune to the occasional brick, and he teamed with Under Armor to toss a resounding one recently, with the release of the “Chef Curry” Curry 2 Lows, pictured above.

Starting Five: KicksOneTwo Founder & Editor Ross Dwyer (Part 3)
It’s that time again. Summer is upon us, and with the warm weather comes an entirely new sneaker rotation. I checked in at the beginning of fall last year to show you what I was rocking…and now the rotation has completely switched up, so a new Starting Five is in order. Here’s everything I’m going to be rocking heavy this summer. And yes, there’s some dirt and grime on some of them. They’re being rocked. Wear your shoes (word to Mayor). Let’s get it.

Photo Recap: ITS Fest
This past Thursday, ITS Fest took place at Gallery 13 in downtown Minneapolis. Photographers, designers, artists, and writers from all over the city came together to celebrate the arrival of summer, soak up the good vibes, listen to music…and last but not least, eat some Cane’s. Here’s everything that went down at the event, in photos.
DJ JRed made sure the vibes were right, as he spun everything from Chief Keef to A$AP Rocky.
The crowd was ready to get turnt.
It wasn’t just a DJ set either. Several rappers took their turns blessing the mic.
