Soundset 2017: The Best Lineup Yet?

Soundset turns 10 this year.

Our home-grown hip-hop festival has become one of the biggest and best in the world in its first decade of existence, and for their 10-year anniversary they may very well have pulled together their best lineup yet. From major names to underground legends, from some of the best artists of our generation to newcomers, there’s truly something for everyone this year, and we think it just may be safe to say that this is the very best Soundset lineup yet.

Let’s start with the headliner, Travis Scott. Travis is more popular now than he’s ever been, with the recent release of his first #1 album, Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight. He’s a true A-list hip hop superstar and a great choice to headline the festival.

Then, you’ve got your legends. Ms. Lauren Hill. T.I. Gucci Mane (yes, he’s a legend). Talib Kweli. Your new breeds, like Lil Uzi Vert & Kevin Gates. Your local stars who broke on a national plane, like the stand4rd, composed of Minnesota’s own Allan Kingdom, Corbin, Bobby Raps, & Psymun. No matter what kind of hip-hop you like, there’s bound to be someone on the bill who floats your boat, and you’ll likely get warmed up to a new artist you weren’t too familiar with (trust us, it happens every year).

Plus, the state fairgrounds make for an awesome venue. Everything’s wonderfully spaced, and there’s enough room for everyone. It feels like a real festival there, and in years past at Canterbury it just felt like a big concert in a field.

We’re extremely gassed. May 28th can’t come fast enough … and we can’t wait to see you all there!

What do you think of this year’s Soundset lineup as opposed to years past?
