For this edition of Music Mondays, we bring you one of our favorite tracks off of Vince Staples‘s banger of a debut album, Summertime ’06. Here’s “Lift Me Up”.
We’re back with a new edition of Starting Five, and this time around, we’re doing our first ever re-visit.
I did the first ever Starting Five here on KicksOneTwo, and since a substantial amount of time has passed since then, my rotation has changed as well. Here’s the five kicks that I’m currently rocking the most!
1. Nike Air Huarache Run PA “White/Gum”
I’m usually not the biggest all-white sneaker fan, but these were too clean to pass up. The ostrich-pattern white leather upper with the gum sole? C’mon son. I actually passed on these when they first dropped, but when I got a second chance to grab them, I couldn’t pass it up. They’re just so easy to throw on with any summer fit..and the comfort is A1 too.
Anyone who grew up in the 90’s loves Space Jam. It was an essential part of being a 90’s baby, from the party sets that everyone had at their birthday parties to the replica jersey and shorts that the cool kids would rock on the first day of school. Everyone’s favorite basketball players combined with everyone’s favorite cartoons made for a very enjoyable flick.
Fast forwards to 2015, and Space Jam is still very relevant. Jordan Brand drops various releases inspired by the movie. People are still rocking Tune Squad jerseys. You can cop the Blu-ray for the low low if you want to have it on deck.
We’re talking about clothes today.
Yes, the name of the site is KicksOneTwo, and yes, it’s mainly a sneaker website. But we love style too. When you see us, you don’t see NT denim or ill-fitting shirts. We like pairing dope kicks with fresh outfits.
But enough bragging. We’re here today to talk about customizing your gear. We all know about custom sneakers, and how if you have an idea and a skilled enough sneaker customizer that you can make almost any idea come to life, but many sneakerheads are unaware that you can do the same thing with your clothes. There’s a few hacks, ranging from simple to complex that you can use to make your fit truly unique, and we’re more than happy to share them with you!
KicksOneTwo homie Why Khaliq released a new video yesterday to accompany his new track “For You”. Featuring a chill vibe and his typical sharp and clever lyrics, it’s not a track to be missed. Check the video below, and be sure to peep his Soundcloud if you want to hear more!
When you’re really into sneakers, you know there’s a price you’ve gotta pay. No, we’re not talking about 4-figure resell prices on a Fragment Jordan 1 or a Nike Basketball sample, we’re talking about the time and energy that you have to invest into the sneaker game to get what you want (usually more limited kicks) out of it.
It’s not all waltzing to the mall or your local boutique on release day, grabbing the kicks you want, and then stunting on your friends and breaking necks when you throw the shoes on. You’ve got to put in work to shine, just like anything else that’s worth doing. Let’s look at the cost of being a sneaker head, and identify some of the things you have to do to get your collection right.
For the first August edition of Music Mondays, we bring you the only song we’ve really been listening to this past week. Keith Ape finally dropped the remix to his hit song “It G Ma”, and it’s a banger. Featuring Waka Flocka Flame, Dumbfoundead, Father, and A$AP Ferg, this is definitely a song for the car.
It’s lit.
BLVCK SPVCE will be headlining a show at the Triple Rock with Nick Travae and Finding Novyon on September 4th.
If you’ve visited this site before, you likely already know about BLVCK SPVCE. One of the dopest hip-hop collectives in Minnesota, the group consists of RP Hooks, GoodKarmaNiles, 1990, and Connye, and is turning heads with their unique cloud rap style.
Nick Travae is a South Minneapolis rapper who recently toured with Pouya on the Southside Slugs tour, and always comes correct with a high-energy performance.
You saw the title. We’re hiding nothing.
This is a shameless plug for our Instagram. I’m not going to try to be stealthy or work my way into it…I’m just going to come out and say it…check it out!
We’re about a week in to it, and we’ve dropped a few dope snaps so far, with many more to come later. Our goal is to bring you the best local sneaker pictures (if you use the #kicksonetwo hashtag, we might even feature you), and later expand into contests and other features!
It’s been a few days now, but chances are if you casually surf though the sneaker inter webs, you’re still greatly enjoying the footage of the fight (if you can even call it that) that occurred at SneakerCon NYC. In the event you haven’t seen it yet, it’s right here for your viewing pleasure.

Absolutely hilarious, right? Watching two scrawny kids halfheartedly grapple while the crowd oohs and ash like a MMA fight is going on is comedy gold. The little extra push at the end of the video is chuckle-worthy as well.
