After the big announcement this week…it’s become Yeezy Week here on KicksOneTwo. It wasn’t planned, but it makes a lot of sense. Kanye West and Adidas are a match made in heaven. Together, they’ve produced some of the best footwear of the last few years, and every new release throws the sneaker and fashion world into a frenzy. We reached 800 posts here on KicksOneTwo last week. That’s a lot of content. Pardon the gushing. We’re just very thankful. We write daily here…but we also take photos. You need pictures to go with your words when you’re covering an event, or nobody will be able to see what’s going on! Since we reached 800 posts, I figured it would be only right for me to dig through the KicksOneTwo vaults and grab my eight favorite event photos. There’s some from a few weeks ago (ITS Fest) and some from a few years ago (TCSAX III, the first event we ever covered). We’re waxing poetic and being nostalgic today. We’re looking back on the past fondly. We’re talking about our favorite Nike Basketball shoe ever (yeah, that’s right!) today. We’re talking about the Nike Hyperdunk.

Introduced at the 2008 Olympics, and proudly sported by Kobe Bryant, the Hyperdunk was originally available in a white/red/blue (for the Olympics of course) and an all-black colorway…and it was a game-changer. One of the earliest shoes to use Flywire, the original Hyperdunk was incredibly light, surprisingly supportive, and excellently cushioned. It was ahead of its time from a performance standpoint…and still stacks up against many of today’s basketball shoes. But like any great shoe, it was more than just the performance that made it so legendary. read more

Supreme vs. Bape. A clash of titans. The longest-running debate in streetwear. A question with no true answer (if you’re wondering though, we’re partial to Supreme). The two biggest brands in our culture each have their devoted fans who swear nothing’s better…and recently, one of those fans has been making some serious waves on the Internet.

See this guy in the video above? He goes by “Ape”, and has been on quite a roll for the past week, terrorizing Supreme stans all over New York City, filming himself throwing clothes in the Supreme store (even filming yourself in there is pretty impressive, as it’s not allowed), and even messing with Jonah Hill. read more

The Adidas Ultra Boost: one of the most comfortable shoes you’ll ever wear. The plush Boost cushioning and the foot-hugging Primeknit upper combine to make you feel like you’re walking on clouds. Nothing else compares.

And they’re not just comfy. They’re dope too. Back again. Round 11.

It’s been a little over a month since the last edition of Sunday Sneaker Ramblings, so it’s high time I checked back in with ya’ll and shared my unfiltered thoughts on what went down in sneakers the past week. Both Adidas and Jordan had things booming (and Reebok made some noise too), so without further ado…we’ll jump right into it. Let’s begin the 11th edition of Sunday Sneaker Ramblings.

Adidas continued their roll with the release of the AlphaBOUNCE, which flew off of shelves, both IRL and on the web as soon as it released on Wednesday…and Kanye hasn’t even worn it yet. Adidas’s roll seems to be going just as strong as ever. They’re hot right now, and they’re giving the people what they want while continuing to innovate. Props to them. Personally, I really like these. We’ll see what the other color ways are all about, but these have an almost fish-like look to them (do they look like scales to anyone else?), which is supremely wavy. read more
