To Plug Or Not To Plug?

In the sneaker world today, it’s important to have a plug. With all the hype surrounding certain releases, you can’t always manage to get the sneakers you want on your own, you need a little help sometimes. That’s where your plug comes in: whether they work at Foot Locker, Finish Line, or just have connections, it can be crucial to have that helping hand.

On the flip side of the situation, maybe you’re the guy who is being asked to plug people. You’re in a position that enables you to get the sneakers that you want, and you’ve got people hitting you up frequently for help with releases. I’ve been in that position before, and wanted to share my two cents on the topic. read more

Soundset Do’s and Dont’s: Everything You Need To Know

For those of you who live under a rock, Soundset is this Sunday, May 25th at Canterbury Park. Here at KicksOneTwo, we love Soundset. We go every year, and we figured we’d whip up a quick guide with do’s and dont’s for those who might be a little bit newer to the game.

Do

-Get there a little early. You have to wait in line for what can amount to a decent while before you get to go in. Especially if you plan to push to the front, the sooner you get in the better.

-Bring your own flask if you want to drink. Drinks add up quickly there with the ticket system that they use, so bring some of your own sauce and save a little money. read more

For our second installment of Starting Five, we’ll be taking a look at my rotation. With everything from Nike SB to New Balance, I’m encompassing a wide variety of kicks. Take a look!

1.  Nike Dunk Hi Premium SB “Brainwreck”

Todd Bratrud is one of my favorite designers, and the Brainwreck is a crazy shoe. I really like the cool grey and pink color combo, and the “brain” stitching on the inside is a crazy touch.

Could This Be the Lebron 12?

Yesterday, Kicks Or Die on Instagram posted two images of what looked to be the Lebron 12. The images were quickly removed, but thankfully not before the internet managed to get a hold of them. The shoe looks to be a super-high top with some sort of Flyknit or woven upper, and a multi-colored translucent icy sole. Check the pictures below. What do you think of this possible Lebron 12? Is the Lebron line headed in a good direction next year?

Thoughts On Random Restocks

We all know the feeling: You see that tweet informing you there’s a restock over on NDC. Maybe you hurry over there and grab a pair that you’ve been wanting since you missed out on the original drop. Maybe you run over there, and there’s nothing left that you wanted. Maybe you don’t have any spare cash and you just have to let it pass by. And maybe, god forbid, you don’t see anything until it’s too late and you miss out on everything completely.

I’ve heard a lot of different opinions on surprise restocks. Some people love them. Some people find them annoying. Some people don’t care one way or another because they don’t have the time to stay up to date. I personally think random restocks are great and here’s why: read more
