The Shoe I Shouldn’t Have Let Go

When you’ve been in the sneaker game for a minute, you’re prepared for the ups and downs. Sometimes everything goes your way and you’re able to get your hands on multiple shoes you want in a row. Sometimes it’s the opposite and you’re striking out on releases and trades left and right. Eventually, you come to terms with that.

However, one thing in the sneaker game that’s more difficult to come to terms with is when you let a shoe go, either by selling or trading, that you really wish you had kept. Everyone’s got that one pair of kicks they let go that they can’t help but think wistfully about. When it comes to me, there have been a few times over the years when I let kicks go that I find myself wishing I kept. read more

Starting Five: Ross Dwyer (Part II)

We’re back with a new edition of Starting Five, and this time around, we’re doing our first ever re-visit.

I did the first ever Starting Five here on KicksOneTwo, and since a substantial amount of time has passed since then, my rotation has changed as well. Here’s the five kicks that I’m currently rocking the most!

1. Nike Air Huarache Run PA “White/Gum”

white gum hurarache

I’m usually not the biggest all-white sneaker fan, but these were too clean to pass up. The ostrich-pattern white leather upper with the gum sole? C’mon son. I actually passed on these when they first dropped, but when I got a second chance to grab them, I couldn’t pass it up. They’re just so easy to throw on with any summer fit..and the comfort is A1 too. read more

Space Jam II: Should It Happen??

Anyone who grew up in the 90’s loves Space Jam. It was an essential part of being a 90’s baby, from the party sets that everyone had at their birthday parties to the replica jersey and shorts that the cool kids would rock on the first day of school. Everyone’s favorite basketball players combined with everyone’s favorite cartoons made for a very enjoyable flick.

Fast forwards to 2015, and Space Jam is still very relevant. Jordan Brand drops various releases inspired by the movie. People are still rocking Tune Squad jerseys. You can cop the Blu-ray for the low low if you want to have it on deck. read more

The Cost Of Being A Sneakerhead

When you’re really into sneakers, you know there’s a price you’ve gotta pay. No, we’re not talking about 4-figure resell prices on a Fragment Jordan 1 or a Nike Basketball sample, we’re talking about the time and energy that you have to invest into the sneaker game to get what you want (usually more limited kicks) out of it.

It’s not all waltzing to the mall or your local boutique on release day, grabbing the kicks you want, and then stunting on your friends and breaking necks when you throw the shoes on. You’ve got to put in work to shine, just like anything else that’s worth doing. Let’s look at the cost of being a sneaker head, and identify some of the things you have to do to get your collection right. read more

Facebook Etiquette (2nd Installment)

What’s up everyone?? It’s Bobby here, back again with a second installment of my newly-formed Facebook Etiquette series. (You can check out the first installment here). I don’t know how many editions of Facebook Etiquette I’ll have, but we’ll just roll with it anyways.

The lesson today is how to properly respond to a for sale post on a shoe that you’re interested in. I cannot tell you how sick and tired I am of seeing people that are interested in the shoe say to the buyer, “Inbox me.” read more
