We’re drawing closer and closer to the first installment of WAX (11/19/15 to be specific), and there’s a lot of dope new stuff going on. First off, WAX is now on Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr, so be sure to follow all those platforms to keep tabs on what’s next for WAX.

Ronnie Fieg Changes the Game (Again)

Ronnie Fieg is a game-changer. There is no doubt about it. Despite critics saying he’s falling off, the man just keeps working and keeps innovating. It doesn’t matter what you’ve thought of his most recent releases and designs; you just can’t knock the fact that he continually pushes the envelope in every single way. His innovation and creativity shined again today with the #UberRush x #KithStrike release of the Diadora RF 7000. Ronnie partnered with UberRUSH and released 24 pairs of the Diadoras today for Manhattan customers only. Those that were lucky enough to purchase in time got the sneakers delivered in as little as an hour. (Don’t worry, these will still be available for purchase on October 23). read more

Mall of America UNC 1 Release

What a day.

If you read my last article, you saw me outline my major lack of decisiveness. Well, this indecisiveness was in full effect for the UNC 1’s that released yesterday. I made a last minute decision I wanted to cop a pair, so on Saturday I got a couple buddies together and headed over to Nike MOA for their first come, first serve release.

The three of us arrived at the Nike Store around 6:40 a.m., and took our places at the back of a line of around 22 or 23. I was feeling pretty confident at this point. The line was pretty chill: a couple older guys were there to resell, a few people were there for themselves, and in the middle of all of this was a large group of obvious resellers who brought their girlfriends (or sisters) with them. Who knows. I started chopping it up with the people around me and even got to take a few shots at the Under Armour employees when they came to open up their store (which happens to be conveniently placed as Nike’s next-door neighbor). Obviously they were not carrying UNC 1’s, and they seemed to be a little bit salty since we were all shopping at Nike. read more

Introducing WAX

Yesterday, we officially unveiled Wax, an extremely wavy event that will be materializing the third Thursday of every month. Although the details are still under wraps for the time being (stay tuned, we’ll be announcing more soon), suffice to say it’s an event for the culture, and the vibes are guaranteed to be excellent.

Yeezy Season 2 – Minneapolis Showing

YEEZY SZN 2.

I spent the majority of Wednesday refreshing my email in hopes of receiving tickets to the Minneapolis Yeezy Season 2 showing. I finally got them later in the night (along with everyone else from Minnesota) and I was amped. Even though I had no clue what to expect, and had numerous questions since the whole event seemed rushed and very last minute, I was still excited to go.

We were granted a plus one, and my dad had expressed interested in going, so I decided to bring him along. He’s not the biggest Kanye fan, and he doesn’t like rap music at all, so I wasn’t sure what he would think, but I figured it would be interesting to get someone who wasn’t immersed in the culture’s thoughts on the show. read more

ICYMI: Logic Announces His Sophomore Album

We’re hyped over here at KicksOneTwo.

This past Tuesday, Logic announced his sophomore album, The Incredible True Story, via a short YouTube video. The video shows Logic in a sci-fi rocket ship enviroment, clad in a NASA-approved bomber, going off on a soundboard to one of the dopest beats I’ve heard in a while. The phrase, “I am the greatest” is repeated multiple times in the sampling of what is sure to be a banger of a track on the new album.

We’ve been waiting for this album announcement for a while now, so we’re very exited to hear that it’s going to be coming out sometime this fall. read more
