Bandwagon Fans

We all know that one guy. You know, the guy who’s “favorite” sports team is somehow in the Finals every year. The guy who gets extremely defensive when you ask him how long he’s liked the team he can’t stop tweeting about. I’m talking about that huge bandwagon fan.
I recently returned home from a trip to Milwaukee, WI with my baseball team. The Twins happened to be playing the Brewers at Miller Park so we all got tickets to go to the game. In case you didn’t know, the Brewers are one of the worst teams in baseball. I was absolutely amazed from what I saw when I got to the field. In pure Wisconsin fashion, the parking lot was filled with tailgaters having a great time. My first thought was, “There is no way we’d ever see this in Minnesota – especially if we were the worst team in the majors!” read more

Four Sneaker Slang Terms That Need To Die

We’re throwing shade this weekend at KicksOneTwo. You might as well know that off top. Yesterday it was various corny acts in the sneaker game…today it’s corny slang. We’re a positive group, but you’ve got to throw shade when throwing shade is due.

There are far too many stupid terms that are overused in the sneaker community, and need to go lay to rest in the sneaker game’s graveyard of irrelevancy right next to fusion Jordans, Greedy Genius, and Creative Recreation. read more

Corniness in the Sneaker World

If you’ve been on the internet at all the last few weeks, you know the Yeezy Boost 350 has been the topic of conversation. Everywhere you look you see people selling Yeezy’s, buying Yeezy’s, talking about the quality of Yeezy’s, and complaining about resell prices of Yeezy’s. Yeezy fever has even hit KicksOneTwo’s own Ross who couldn’t help but post this ignorant, yet super funny picture on Twitter the other day.

We’ve all seen pictures of corny stuff done with sneakers before. You know, the pictures where people put Oreo 5’s next to a box of Oreo’s, Grape 5’s on a tree (even though grapes grow on bushes…) or Bred 11’s next to an actual loaf of bread. Granted, some of these pictures are jokes, but its funny to know that there are dudes who actually think that that play on words is going to help them stunt on the ‘gram. Clowns. read more

So you’ve got a pretty good shoe collection. You’ve got love for everything from classics like a Jordan I to the latest and greatest in performance basketball shoes like a LeBron XII. You know what shoes to wear when, and you feel like you’ve got a shoe for almost any situation.

But there’s just one small thing that you can’t help but feel like you’re missing out on. You want a sneaker that you can wear when it’s time to dress up a little bit. You are a sneakerhead, after all. Wearing loafers or wingtips just isn’t your style. read more

Who’s Paying Resale Prices??

Earlier this week, I was perusing the digital shelves of Flight Club, as I so often do in my spare time. I was enjoying checking out everything from recent Flyknit releases to classic mid-00’s SB heat, when I thought I’d take a look at what the Yeezy 350 Boosts (which I acquired last weekend) were hitting for.

When I clicked over to their page, and saw that a size 9 (the size I’m in posession of and have already worn…yeah I copped to rock) was going for a cool $1,250 I wasn’t exactly surprised, but a few questions did come to my mind, the main one being this: Who the fuck is paying that much for a pair of shoes?? read more

Limited Kicks: When To Rock & When To Sell

It finally happened.

You got lucky either online or on a raffle, and you copped a pair of valuable limited kicks. You’re already daydreaming about how all your friends are going to be jealous when you roll up to the function in your new pair, and you can’t help but imagine stunting on all the GR-wearing suckers at the mall too.

But then you start thinking about something else.

You’ve seen the same shoes on eBay. People are paying $700, $800, even over $1,000. That’s a lot of money for a pair of shoes. You start thinking about what you could do with that money, but you’re still not sure if you’re ready to pull the trigger and sell. read more

Tips And Tricks For Getting Sneakers Online

Online releases. They’re a major part of today’s sneaker game. Every shoe you want isn’t going to be available locally, so you’re forced to go to the internet (sometimes early in the morning on a weekend..which is awful) to get the shoes you want.

This means that you’ll be competing with people across the country and the world who want the same kicks that you do, so you need to be quick to get what you want. Thankfully there’s a few easy hacks I’ve learned to make this process simpler that I’d be glad to pass along to you. Here’s a few tips and tricks for getting sneakers online. read more

Thoughts On The Yeezy 350 Boost

It’s seemingly the only shoe that’s been discussed these last few weeks. It’s being discussed in Facebook sneaker groups, barbershops, and boutiques all over the world. It’s the Yeezy 350 Boost, the most anticipated shoe of the last few months by a long shot.

Opinions vary from extremely positive to exceptionally negative. The shoe’s supporters will say that it’s a great representation of what Kanye is trying to achieve with his new Adidas line (while also incorporating Adidas’s newest and best technology), while its detractors will say that it looks like a Roshe Run knockoff, and is just flat-out ugly. read more

Sneaker Reselling: When Will The Bubble Burst?

Resellers.

They’re a part of the game whether you like it or not. Some use the money they make selling hyped sneakers to enhance their own personal collection, some use it as as their full-time income, and some are just novices hoping to make a quick buck on whatever semi-rare sneaker that they just managed to get their hands on.

But recently the game has been changing. Sure, there are still sneakers that will resell for a four-figure sum…but the buyers don’t seem to be turning out in high numbers. Why is this, you might ask? It might just be because the sneaker reselling bubble is beginning to burst. read more
