Nike Is Pushing The AF1 To The Forefront Of Cool Again

cgd-af1-1

The Air Force 1: one of the most iconic models in Nike’s history. From its inception in 1982 to today, it’s a shoe that’s been at the forefront of fashion and street culture. Much like any other shoe, it’s had its ups and downs in the popular eye, but it’s managed to remain remarkably consistent over its 30-year existence.

We’d mentioned ups and downs in the paragraph above … and it seems as if Nike is setting the AF1 “up” (no pun intended) for a very good year in 2017. In today’s world, there’s nothing better than a collab, and it appears as if we’ll be getting blessed with a few crazy ones. read more

Gucci Time is upon us again.

Our good friend, designer Chris Bailey has released another capsule collection of Gucci Mane-inspired merchandise to follow up his first two Gucci pop-ups/capsule collections.

This third effort is very holiday-themed and features the East Atlanta Santa himself surrounded by “presents” to help you ring in the holiday season in a festive spirit. The design is inspired by Bape’s Baby Milo characters, and lends itself well to Gucci’s flashy appearance. read more

Gucci’s Classic Logo Tee And Hoodie Are Available Now … If You Can Afford Them

screen-shot-2016-11-02-at-12-30-13-am

Gucci: A brand that’s enjoyed a terrific resurgence in 2016. After several years of ho-hum releases and what seemed to be a lack of inspired products, Alessandro Michele took the helm and turned both the high-fashion world and the streetwear world on their heads with his loud, over-the-top (in a good way) designs and embroidery on everything. Gucci has got all the juice right now, and they don’t show any signs of stopping any time soon.

So you already know the recent announcement that they’d be re-releasing a classic logo tee and hoodie from the 80’s was met with much fanfare. Anything with a double G on it is a hit currently, and the fact that both have large logos on the chest makes them an automatic hit with the flexing crowd. read more

Artist Merch: A Wave That Cannot Be Stopped

kanye-west-yeezy-3-life-of-pablo-event-2016-billboard-650

Tour merch used to not be a big deal. You’d go see an artist you liked in concert, and you might just buy yourself a t-shirt from their merch stand if you liked them enough. Maybe if you were a really big fan, you’d head over to their website and grab yourself some merch on there. It wasn’t really a fashion statement of any sort, you’d just wear it because you liked the artist.

Oh, how things have changed. Starting with Kanye’s “Yeezus” tour merch, the demand for artist goods has increased tenfold. Tour merch is limited. It resells for high prices. It sells out right away, and is not easy to get anymore. Justin Bieber’s “Purpose Tour” merch was designed by Jerry Lorenzo and had a pop-up at VFILES. Travis Scott just announced his new merch line will consist of 60 (that’s right, 60) pieces. Kanye’s Pablo line has been so successful that people line up for hours to buy it at pop-up shops all over the world. read more

5 Must-Have Graphic Tees For Fall

S16-3

A little over a week ago, we decried the rock tee. We said it was washed. We said the trend was over (which it is).

But we understand that you probably have a few rock tees in your wardrobe … and now you need something to replace them. Even if you don’t have any rock tees that need replacing, you need to be sure that you have a few heater graphic tees in your wardrobe as they’re an essential fall layering piece. We know a good graphic tee when we see one, so we thought we’d share 5 of our favorites with you, and we even included the links to the product pages so you can cop if you’re so inclined. read more

It’s Time To Retire Rock Tees From Your Wardrobe

enhanced-7127-1444687420-4

Trends come, and they go. What starts out as a fashion statement by a select few will catch on like wildfire, and grow until it’s found at every mall retailer you can think of, and worn by every trend-hopper you know. You can’t go anywhere without seeing it, whatever it may be. What was once cool has become totally washed, and needs to be retired.

The most recent trend to reach this level of hype? Rock tees. What was once only worn by rock fans to support their favorite band has now infiltrated mainstream fashion culture on every level, and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon … which is why now is a perfect time for you to remove any and all rock tees from your wardrobe. read more
