Sneaker Nicknames: Are They Played Out?

If there’s one thing that sneakerheads love to a fault, it’s giving nicknames to shoes. From classic models to new releases, every shoe that comes out seems to have some sort of nickname nowadays.

There are classic and useful nicknames like “Bred” for any black/and red Jordan, or “Volt” for any neon yellow/green sneaker, but the usefulness of sneaker nicknames dries up somewhat quickly. In today’s sneakerhead world, it seems like there has to be some sort of nickname or deeper meaning for every single shoe that’s dropping every single weekend. read more

The Evolution Of Sneakers And One’s Personal Style

Let me start by saying this is a fun topic to discuss and muse upon. Sneakers and style are two of my very favorite things, and when you bring them together it just works, like peanut butter and jelly, or Shawn Carter and Kanye West. However, bringing them together can prove a challenge. You’ve gotta make sure your sneakers work with your outfit, and your outfit works with your sneakers. Let’s spend some time talking about personal style, and the sneaker choices that go along with it. read more

Is Wearing Fake Jordans OK?

You’ve most likely seen a few pairs in your life. It’s possible you’ve even worn a pair yourself. Maybe they were a crazy color scheme. Maybe they were see-through plastic. Maybe they had SpongeBob SquarePants on the side. If you haven’t guessed it by now, we’re talking about fake Jordans.

Yes, fake Jordans. The ones you buy from the guy with a bunch of pairs in the back of his truck. The ones you get on the websites that have several misspellings and offer outrageously low prices. But we’re not talking about the fake shoes themselves, we’re talking about if it’s OK to rock them or not. read more

Predictions And Thoughts On The Kith WCP

If you’re a Kith fan, there’s a good chance that you rejoiced when you heard the news. The gawd himself Ronnie Fieg took to Instagram earlier this week to announce his next release, the West Coast Project (or WCP for short). In the event you haven’t seen the picture Ronald posted (I enjoy referring to him as Ronald even though his name’s actually Aaron), here it is for your eyes below.

In the event that you’re not a Kith fan, this is a big deal because in 2013 Ronnie released the East Coast Project (or ECP), which included everything from collaborative gear with Play Cloths to one of his best shoes ever, the Gel Lyte III “Miami”. It was one of his best bodies of work, and because of that, the expectations for this project drawing inspiration from the other coast are very high. read more

Sneak Peek: Jordan IV “Oreo”

The “Oreo” Jordan IV’s don’t release until February 21st, but KicksOneTwo thought it was only right to bring you a few early snaps. The quality and construction of these IV’s is on point, and the leather is very soft and supple. Check out a few pictures below, and let us know if you’re planning to cop next month!

Thoughts On The Just Don Jordan II

They’re here. They’re all blue, the leather is buttery and in a quilted pattern, and yes they’re expensive.

With Jordan Brand officially unveiling the “Just Don” II’s yesterday (with a release date of January 31st for anyone who’s curious), I thought that it was only right to share my thoughts on them. Sneakerheads as a whole seem to have pretty mixed feelings, so I’ll be throwing my two cents in.

First off, the shoe certainly looks premium. The leather appears to be rich and buttery, and the hit of suede on the side looks very lush as well. These cost $275 for a reason. There were premium materials used all over, and that will always come at a fairly steep price. Secondly, the blue shoe wave just might be starting with these. A few months back, I said that blue shoes would be hot in 2015, and these might just kick off that craze. read more
