The Jury Is No Longer Out: The Space Jam XI’s Are A Winner

air-jordan-xi_4

About a week and a half ago, we were wondering what the Space Jam XI release would look like. We’d heard a lot of complaints from a lot of sneakerheads about the shoe. They didn’t like the “45” on the back. They didn’t like the higher cut of the patent leather on the upper. The shoe wasn’t true to the original because (fill in the blank with any number of sneakerhead-style complaints here). We wondered how the general public would receive the shoe as a whole. read more

Will The Flyknit Racer Ever Fully Return To Glory?

nike-flyknit-racer-rough-green-release-reminder-1

The Nike Flyknit Racer. A shoe that as recently as 2013 was unfuckwittable. A shoe that ushered in the age of athleisure along with tapered sweats and fashion-forwards workout garments. A shoe that was collected obsessively by sneakerheads around the world, and even worn by Kanye West. Yes, there was a time when the Flyknit Racer was top of the line. Shit, the original “Multiunit” colorway still bangs for upwards of $450 on Flight Club.

Nike has recently put the Flyknit Racer back at the front line of their sportswear offerings, with recent releases like the “Blackout” and the “Multiknit 2.0” generating a good amount of hype, and even selling out fairly quickly. So we’re wondering: will the Flyknit Racer ever return to its former glory? read more

Don’t Buy Into The Hype: Fake Sneaker Release Rumors Are Abundant

air-jordan-5-retro-raging-bull-red-suede-varsity-red-black-011012_2

If there’s one thing that all sneakerheads agree on, it’s that we all get excessively gassed for new releases. Every time there’s news or a somewhat credible rumor about a new shoe dropping, we’ll be talking about the possibilites. We’re a hopeful bunch, and if we hear that a shoe we love might be dropping sometime soon, we’ll rock with the rumors more often than not.

The downfall of this is that sometimes we can fall prey to untrue rumors or leaks about shoes releasing. It seems to happen every November/December: various news outlets will report that a desirable shoe will be dropping sometime next year, and we’ll all get excited. The news will spread like wildfire through the sneaker circles until one of our “trusty” news sources will brand the rumors as false or admit to jumping the gun … and then we’ll all be disappointed again. read more

Nike Is Pushing The AF1 To The Forefront Of Cool Again

cgd-af1-1

The Air Force 1: one of the most iconic models in Nike’s history. From its inception in 1982 to today, it’s a shoe that’s been at the forefront of fashion and street culture. Much like any other shoe, it’s had its ups and downs in the popular eye, but it’s managed to remain remarkably consistent over its 30-year existence.

We’d mentioned ups and downs in the paragraph above … and it seems as if Nike is setting the AF1 “up” (no pun intended) for a very good year in 2017. In today’s world, there’s nothing better than a collab, and it appears as if we’ll be getting blessed with a few crazy ones. read more

The Original Blue Toe Question Is Back!

reebok-question-mid-og-blue-toe-release-date-11

You read the title right. The Question is back … and it’s not just another overdone new colorway. It’s back in its first and very best color. The color Allen Iverson wore during his Rookie Of The Year season in 1996. The color he took the NBA by storm in. The color he wore while crossing over Michael Jordan, in arguably the most famous moment of his career. It’s a must-cop for any AI fan.

The shoe has aged quite well. It brings back classic mid-90’s nostalgia but still looks fresh enough for the streets or sturdy enough for the courts in 2016, 20 years after the original release (can you believe it’s already been that long? We can’t). read more

Pusha T and Adidas: A Match Made In Heaven

r1j5kcssuzaic0rkjyaq

Nobody has a better stable of artists and influencers in footwear than Adidas. From Kanye West to Pharrell to Rita Ora, Adidas has managed to tap into almost every imaginable market due to their great product and brand ambassadors.

One ambassador who may fly slightly more under the radar than the rest but still commands just as much respect (if not more) from the culture is Pusha T. The legendary rapper and 1/2 of the Clipse has practically become the face of Adidas’s EQT products, as his third release, a lux Primeknit EQT called the “Greyscale” sold out incredibly quickly this week, much like his last two EQT releases did. read more

vans-opening-ceremony-mono-pack-holiday-2-16-1

Vans and Opening Ceremony. Two powerhouses. Two brands that do what they want, even if some people don’t rock with it (remember when Nick Young said Opening Ceremony should be called Closing Ceremony?). Two brands that just came together for a fire collab. Two brands that just came together for a “Mono” pack, consisting of Old Skools, Sk8-Hi’s and Prison Issues.

All the shoes in the pack are clean, wearable, and dressed in high-quality monochromatic leather. Even though they were born as skate shoes, Vans have always managed to look very high fashion-esque when dripped in premium materials. You can’t tell us that these don’t look like a high-end shoe! read more
