ICYMI: Logic Announces His Sophomore Album

We’re hyped over here at KicksOneTwo.

This past Tuesday, Logic announced his sophomore album, The Incredible True Story, via a short YouTube video. The video shows Logic in a sci-fi rocket ship enviroment, clad in a NASA-approved bomber, going off on a soundboard to one of the dopest beats I’ve heard in a while. The phrase, “I am the greatest” is repeated multiple times in the sampling of what is sure to be a banger of a track on the new album.

We’ve been waiting for this album announcement for a while now, so we’re very exited to hear that it’s going to be coming out sometime this fall. read more

My Current Beef With Nike

I’m mad.

We’re all about peace, love, and positivity here at KicksOneTwo, (word to Logic), but we’re also not afraid to toss some shade when needed. Granted, if I wasn’t applying for Nike in a few weeks, this article’s word choice would be a little bit different, but that aside I have some beef with them.

First: the pair of Free Flyknit 4.0’s I sent to their claims department. On both of the shoes, the rubber on the toe was worn down pretty badly. I’ve never had this happen to me before so I decided to send them in to see if I could get a product voucher. What did I have to lose, right? read more

It’s All About Options

The majority of us have that one shoe that we all love. The go-to. For Ross, it’s the Jordan 1. For the homie Titus, it’s the KD 4. For myself, it’s the Kobe 8. (Although, this statement may not be 100% correct. I’ll elaborate later). The fact of the matter is that once you find your go-to sneaker, you want to cop more colorways of that silhouette. Nothing wrong with having a pair for every fit. However, is there a point where it gets to be too much? Is rocking a different colorway of the same shoe everyday a good idea? read more

Getting Kevin Durant’s Autograph

We’ve been feeling pretty nostalgic here at KicksOneTwo as we gave you a Throw Back Thursday post this week, and now I’m going to reach into my personal vault of sneaker stories and tell you one of my favorites . I was just recently looking through my collection and I happened to come across my Kevin Durant signed “Easter” KD V’s. The story of how I ended up getting them signed is a great one that I think you’ll all enjoy!

For this story, we’ll have to bring it way back to March 29, 2013. My man Titus had invited me to the Timberwolves vs. Thunder game to celebrate his birthday, so of course I was excited to see KD play in person for the first time. Since we were going to the game, we had decided beforehand to try to get his autograph. read more

Striking Out On Releases (And How To Deal With It)

I’m mad.

Well, now that the whole situation has somewhat blown over, I’m not really mad at all. However, for the sake of this article, put yourself in the mind state of myself after striking out on a release.

I’m mad.

As the majority of you know, Supreme dropped it’s 2015 fall/winter collection yesterday. There was something for everyone as items ranged anywhere from baseball jerseys to jackets and lunch boxes to crowbars. I’ve never been a huge Supreme-head, but I was planning on picking up a couple items, (or trying to at least), from this release. The drop was scheduled for 10:00 am CST, so I knew I’d be able to try to grab what I wanted. read more

Corporate Logos on Jerseys

Imagine seeing the Target bulls-eye slapped on the middle of the Minnesota Wild jersey. Now, imagine it on the Timberwolves jersey. Twins jersey. Vikings jersey. You get the point. It’s a frightening image to some. Unfortunately, this frightening image could become reality sooner than we might like.

With the recent news of Adidas winning a contract to being the official provider of jerseys to the NHL, (you can do some damage with $70 million), hockey fans all around America fear that Adidas will convert their favorite team’s jersey to a billboard.  Minnesota native and NHL star Blake Wheeler took to Twitter with his thoughts on the subject (hit the link if you want to see what he had to say… personally I agree with him completely). read more

Are Retailers Doing Too Much for the Yeezy Release?

After seeing the title of this article, you probably have the same thought that I’m having right now while writing it. “Oh God, not another article about the Yeezy Boost’s.” I am fully aware that Yeezy SZN is in full effect with the upcoming release of the Yeezy Boost 350 “Pirate Black”, and you’re all probably sick of seeing release info and how to cop articles. (And even articles on what you should buy when you strike out. Thanks, SoleCollector). I know I’m getting sick of them. Please, just bear with me here. read more

Garage Sale Dream

I love garage sales. Sure, the majority of them are filled with old baby clothes from kids that are now grown up, but there are plenty out there that contain some sweet stuff. The best part is that you never know what you’re going to find.

No matter how many garage sales I go to, I still can’t help but look through all of the shoes and clothing in hopes that I’ll find a grail or a really dope clothing piece. It might sound absurd, but I never stop hoping to find something that’s worth a crazy amount of money for a dirt cheap price. I’m talking deadstock OG Jordan 1’s for $50, or something among those lines. read more

Facebook Etiquette (2nd Installment)

What’s up everyone?? It’s Bobby here, back again with a second installment of my newly-formed Facebook Etiquette series. (You can check out the first installment here). I don’t know how many editions of Facebook Etiquette I’ll have, but we’ll just roll with it anyways.

The lesson today is how to properly respond to a for sale post on a shoe that you’re interested in. I cannot tell you how sick and tired I am of seeing people that are interested in the shoe say to the buyer, “Inbox me.” read more

Thoughts On OVO Collabing with Jordan Brand

ovo

CHARGED UP.

Drake has been all over the news lately. It seems like every time I refresh my Twitter feed, his name pops up. The majority of this publicity has come from Drake’s newly forged beef with Meek Mill. (Sidenote – I write all my own articles, I promise. Quentin Miller writes Ross’) (ed. note: Lies and debauchery from Mr. Cienik here. Quentin has never wrote anything for me. I’m going to go write a diss article right now to prove it). If you haven’t seen the countless memes aimed at the two rappers, you’re definitely not following the right people on Twitter or Instagram. read more
