The Roshe Run: Alternative Options.

As a recent graduate from its hallowed halls, I can say that Anoka High School has always been behind on fashion trends. From camo shorts to joggers, it always takes Anokans a while to catch on. The biggest example comes from a couple years ago when the Roshe Run started getting big. I remember hearing all about how comfy the shoe was and how it was a “must cop” due to its versatility and dope yet simple design.

Being the hypebeast that I am, I gave in and copped my first pair. I was one of the very first, if not the first, to have a pair of Roshe’s at Anoka. Today if you were to walk through the halls during a school day, it would be hard to not see somebody wearing a pair. read more

Facebook Profile Names

Along with Twitter and Instagram, Facebook is a great outlet for sneakerheads to buy, sell, and showcase their kicks. No matter if you prefer to stay local or go national, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of sneaker groups.

It goes without saying that there is a lot of buffoonery that goes on in these groups. From trolls to scammers these groups have it all. However, the main thing that has been irking me lately is people’s profile names. I know what you’re thinking: “Come on Bobby, profile names?” Let me explain. read more

All About Samples

#Samples, #PlayerExclusive, #BOMGang and my personal favorite, #SampleLife.

If you’ve followed any big sample collectors on Instagram, I’m sure you’ve seen a few of these hashtags used. I’m guilty of using them myself. (I still think claiming #SampleLife and #BOMGang is hilarious).

For those that don’t know much about me and my shoe collection, I can say that I dabble in the sample game. I’m not one of those guys that’s looking for and buying samples and samples only, but I’m not one to turn down a dope pair for a good price, even more so if they’re Kobes (some of my favorite shoes). read more

The Art of Complimenting Someone’s Shoes

So you’re walking through the mall, checking out all the stores have to offer with a dope fit on and a fresh pair of kicks on your feet. Aww yeah, it’s an un-deadstock kind of day. You stroll past the shops with a certain aura of confidence around you. You’re stunting on everyone and you know it. As you walk around, you smile at the fact that people’s eyes always seem to hit the ground when they pass you. You’re breaking everyone’s necks today. (If you haven’t realized yet, you’re having a pretty good day). read more

Bandwagon Fans

We all know that one guy. You know, the guy who’s “favorite” sports team is somehow in the Finals every year. The guy who gets extremely defensive when you ask him how long he’s liked the team he can’t stop tweeting about. I’m talking about that huge bandwagon fan.
I recently returned home from a trip to Milwaukee, WI with my baseball team. The Twins happened to be playing the Brewers at Miller Park so we all got tickets to go to the game. In case you didn’t know, the Brewers are one of the worst teams in baseball. I was absolutely amazed from what I saw when I got to the field. In pure Wisconsin fashion, the parking lot was filled with tailgaters having a great time. My first thought was, “There is no way we’d ever see this in Minnesota – especially if we were the worst team in the majors!” read more

Corniness in the Sneaker World

If you’ve been on the internet at all the last few weeks, you know the Yeezy Boost 350 has been the topic of conversation. Everywhere you look you see people selling Yeezy’s, buying Yeezy’s, talking about the quality of Yeezy’s, and complaining about resell prices of Yeezy’s. Yeezy fever has even hit KicksOneTwo’s own Ross who couldn’t help but post this ignorant, yet super funny picture on Twitter the other day.

We’ve all seen pictures of corny stuff done with sneakers before. You know, the pictures where people put Oreo 5’s next to a box of Oreo’s, Grape 5’s on a tree (even though grapes grow on bushes…) or Bred 11’s next to an actual loaf of bread. Granted, some of these pictures are jokes, but its funny to know that there are dudes who actually think that that play on words is going to help them stunt on the ‘gram. Clowns. read more

KicksOneTwo Writer Emil (Bobby) Cienik: About Me

What’s up KicksOneTwo!? First and foremost, I am extremely excited to become a part of the KicksOneTwo family and cook up some dope articles for your reading pleasure. I’ve known Ross for a little while now and he’s been nothing but good to me so I owe him a huge thank you for letting me be a part of this. My name is Emil Cienik, (most people call me Bobby), I’m 17 years old, and am a recent graduate of Anoka High School.

My interest in shoes started as a child in elementary school. Every August before the new school year started, I’d always want my parents to buy me the most expensive shoes with the hope that everyone in class would be jealous. Funny to think about even as an 8 year old, I wanted to stunt on kids. I can’t help but laugh now as I remember my dad telling me that $100 for a pair of shoes was an outrageous price. It was even funnier when I got older and first told him that I could get hundreds of dollars for certain pairs of shoes. read more
