For today’s edition of Music Mondays, we’re bringing your some classic Kanye (it’s only right as the Saint Pablo tour is in town tonight … even though you won’t hear this song). Here’s “Drive Slow” featuring Paul Wall and GLC, one of our favorite classic Ye jams.

It’s All About the Quality

air-jordan-1-banned-1_lozner

There’s really nothing like a high-quality pair of shoes.

With prices steadily climbing nowadays, when you buy a pair of shoes it’s almost an investment. You want to wear them a lot so you can be sure that you get your money’s worth out of your purchase … and that’s hard to do when the shoe you cop is cheaply assembled. You really don’t feel like you’ve made a good purchase when the shoe you cop looks like shit after only a few wears.

However, sneaker companies have noticed this, and the quality of recent releases seems to be better than it’s ever been within the last few years. No matter if it’s a remastered Jordan (we’re not hot on them essentially admitting that they were releasing inferior products before and they’re now uncharging you for what they should have been giving you all along, but at least their new releases are nice), a Bapesta adorned with premium leather by the gawd Ronnie Fieg, or a premium Diadora collab runner, quality just may be at an all-time high. read more

Mosh Pit Ready: 3 Great Shoes To Wear To A Concert

rs-kanye02-ef15fc99-a7cf-47f8-be4d-5d5c8b9cd549

So you’re headed to a concert. You’re ready to see whoever’s performing, and you’re geeked. You’ve almost finished putting your fit together and then the realization hits you like a ton of bricks: you have no idea what shoes you want to wear.

Figuring out what shoes to wear to a concert can be challenging. Sure, you want to wear something fresh, but you don’t want to wear anything that can get thrashed too easily, as you’ll be jumping around with hundreds of other people (unless standing around in VIP is more your thing, in which case this article isn’t for you). With the Saint Pablo tour right around the corner (hitting the Xcel Energy Center this monday), we figured now’s as good of a time as any to give you three great shoes you can wear to any concert. read more

Foot Locker & FJ Missions: Doing The Most Good

foot-locker-fj-missions-4000-sneaker-giveaway

We’re all sneakerheads. We’ve all got a damn good amount of shoes. This is what we do after all, right? We collect.

However, sometimes in our search for the ever-elusive pair to add onto the 20+ pairs we already have, we can forget that there are those who are less fortunate than us. Those who’d be happy to have one good pair of shoes. Those who buy shoes because they need them, not because they want them.

Thankfully, Foot Locker doesn’t forget those kids. This year marks the 28th straight year they’ve linked up with Fred Jordan Missions in Los Angeles to give away 4,000 pairs of kicks to needy kids. They gave those kids the shot to step out feeling like a million bucks in a new pair of kicks … which we all know is a feeling everyone should be able to have. read more

Carrots By Anwar Is One Of Our Favorite Brands Out

anwar-carrots-street-style-tokyo-feature

Here at KicksOneTwo, we’re always on the hunt for fresh new clothing brands to rock. We’ve got our old standbys that we love and rock season in and season out, but we’re always keeping our eyes open for different brands that we can put in our rotation.

One of those different brands that we’ve really been loving lately is Carrots by Anwar Carrots. Quick backstory for those of you who don’t know Anwar: he came up in the mid-00’s Fairfax Avenue talent incubator that also gave us Dom Kennedy, Tyler, The Creator and the rest of the Odd Future crew, Casey Veggies, and many more. read more

Back To The Future II

self-lacing-nike-mag-shoes

We’ve officially made it back to the future. The power-lacing Nike Mag is finally upon us.

That’s right, the shoe that originally captured hearts and minds in 1989 is back again (it released in 2011 as well) … but this time it even comes with the infamous power-lacing system that the film made so popular.

And we’ve got to say: this is a release that’s being done right.

When the Mags release, the proceeds are donated to the Michael J. Fox foundation for Parkinson’s research. The beloved actor (and Back To The Future star) suffers from the disease, and is at the forefront of fighting it with his foundation. Nike graciously gives the Mag money to the foundation to help. That’s awesome. read more

The Toy Story x Vans Collab Brings Out The Kid In All Of Us

toy-story-vans-official-collab-1

We’ve been writing about collabs a whole lot here at KicksOneTwo recently. Can you really blame us? The sneaker game has been getting blessed with a bunch of great ones recently, from the official Adidas x Bape announcement, to Kith x Captain Crunch. However, the collab we’re discussing today is special in its own way, and as 90’s babies we’d be remiss to not talk about it.

Toy Story x Vans. Classic Vans silhouettes, from the Sk-8 Hi to the Old Skool to the Authentic. There’s a lot of variety in this pack, and with all that variety comes a lot of memories. read more

Kith x Cap’n Crunch: A Legendary Collaboration

kith-capn-crunch-01

Ronnie Fieg: a man of many tastes. A man who loves running shoes. A man who loves athletic-inspired streetwear. A man who loves cereal.

Yes, cereal. The breakfast food that we all know and love. Fruity Pebbles. Froot Loops. Count Chocula. Cap’n Crunch. The man loves cereal so much, he even opened a revolutionary cereal treat bar inside his own Kith store, entitled Kith Treats.

However, he’s just taken it to the next level, and possibly pulled off the biggest flex of 2016. He’s leveraged Kith’s name and marketing muscle … and somehow managed to secure a collaboration with one of the biggest names in cereal … Cap’n Crunch. read more

Bape’s Recent/Upcoming Sneaker Collabs: Extra Lit.

s4

There’s no question about it: Bape has been on their shit recently.

When it comes to collabs, there’s not really many streetwear brands that can rattle off a list of footwear projects like Bape can … and some of their recent/upcoming releases might just be their best work yet. Let’s start with the NMD’s, the hottest shoe of the moment.

When you take a shoe that’s got as much juice as an NMD and slap a classic Bape camo print on it, you really can’t go wrong. It’s a perfect storm of hype, and we’ve got a feeling that  both pairs will be blowing off shelves before you can say “hypebeast”. Bape linked up with another brand that’s got all the juice at the moment .. and the result is looking excellent. read more
