Welcome to the 6th edition of Sunday Sneaker Ramblings. If you’re new to the segment, I touch on the biggest news in sneakers the past week, and share my thoughts (positive or negative) on said news. Without further ado, it’s time to discuss the news.
There was a Yeezy release this week, the “Moonrock” 350 Boosts to be specific. I’m a huge fan of the 350 Boost, but I’ve gotta say, the Moonrocks have been my least favorite colorway so far. They look like a Turtledove sample that was left on the cutting room floor until some Adidas executive said “Fuck it, these are Kanye shoes. Let’s release these too, they’ll still sell out”. If you managed to cook a pair, shouts to you, but I’m really not even tripping that Adidas handed me an L on Saturday morning. I’ll live to cop Yeezys another day.
As sneakerheads, we usually have one or two types or brands of shoes that we prefer over others. For me, it’s Jordan I’s and Flyknit Racers. For Bobby, it’s Nike PE’s and Reeboks. For Jahmade, it’s anything Adidas….just kidding. Jahmade hates Adidas.
It seems that every sneakerhead has a shoe or two (or in rarer cases, a whole brand) that they just flat-out don’t rock with. Why is that, you might ask? That’s exactly the question we’re trying to figure out in today’s arcticle.
TGIF. We’ve got one more day to get through until the weekend, and it’ll be a glorious weekend indeed. Although the Black Friday blowout is only 2 weeks away (expect another of these articles around then), this weekend’s releases are nothing to sneeze at…so we decided it would be only right to rank the five best. Without further ado, here’s the top 5 sneakers releasing this weekend.
5. LimitEDitions x Diadora N9000 “Castellers”-Saturday, $N/A
Don’t call it a comeback. Diadora has barged back into the sneaker game in 2015 with a run of dope, high-quality collabs and their latest with Barcelona’s LimitEDitions pays homage to the Catalonian festival tradition of “castells”. The shoe also comes with four pairs of laces, a keychain, and a bespoke box.
When it comes to kicks, there’s nothing more important on the athletic side of the spectrum than the signature shoe, especially when you’re talking basketball. You know a player has truly arrived when he gets a signature sneaker, and with all the top-tier athletes in the NBA that have their own lines they’re practically begging to be ranked.
So that’s what we’ve done for you here. We sifted through all the NBA players with their own signature shoes (there’s a lot more than you might think) and listed them from #10 to #1. Without further ado, we’ll jump into the list. Here’s #10:
They say that good things come in threes…and that’s especially true today, because this is our third shameless Instagram plug. It’s been about a month and a half since we last reminded you to follow us on the ‘gram to stay up to date with our latest and greatest sneaker pictures, and if we do say so ourselves, the photos are getting better and better. Sometimes in life there comes a point when you need to trim your sneaker collection down. Maybe a whole side of your bedroom is covered in boxes. Maybe your 2-car garage has become a 1-car garage. Maybe the spare room in your house has become storage for your kicks. Maybe you simply have too many pairs that you don’t wear.
It’s not something that’s easy to do. When you have a lot of shoes, even something as simple as trying to figure out which pairs you want to sell and which pairs you want to keep can be a time-consuming and strenuous task. Fear not. We’re here with some tips so that if the time does come for you to move some of your kicks, it’ll be as pain-free as possible.

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to go check out a Timberwolves game with several other members of the Minneapolis/ St. Paul sneaker community. Even though the Wolves got demolished by the Heat, it was a great time. Laughs were shared, drinks and food were consumed, and lively discussion of sneakers (of course) were had by all.
A few days after this memorable experience, I got to thinking about our local sneaker community and how great it is. Although we may not be nearly as large as communities in other cities like Chicago and LA, we’re much more tight-knit due to our smaller size, and that’s a blessing.
Sometimes you just can’t resist the urge to flex. To stunt. To show out. To show up at the function looking like a million bucks. To make the herbs salty and jealous.
When you possess a certain level of knowledge about sneakers and clothing, it’s unavoidable. Sometimes you get that urge to throw on your best stuff, step out of the house, and hurt feelings. However, there’s a right and a wrong way to go about it, and we’re going to give you a couple do’s and dont’s so you can ensure that your flexing game is always on point. Get your heater kicks and fire garments ready to go.
