As some of you may have noticed, (or not noticed at all), I haven’t posted an article in around two weeks now. Finals week got the best of me, and I had to focus my time hitting the books instead of doing something cool like writing for KicksOneTwo. Now that finals week is over and Winter break has begun, it’s only right that I come back to the site with an absolute BANGER of an article, right??

Release fatigue is a very real thing.

These last few months, more than any other time in the last few years, there are release-date sneakers sitting on the shelves. Starting with the “Marvin the Martian” Jordan VII’s, shoes have been sitting on the shelves for weeks (if not months) after their initial release date. Why is this, you might ask?

Sneakers are as popular as they have ever been. But, as discussed in past articles, the sneaker bubble is starting to burst. With the wide swath of new releases that drop every single week, you just can’t keep up to pace. It doesn’t help that this is one of Jordan Brand’s weakest seasons in recent memory and a rough year for retail sales as a whole, but shoes just aren’t moving as fast as they used to. read more

There’s always those moments in the sneaker game where you think you’ve had enough. Maybe you’ve struck out on one too many releases. Maybe you’re sick of resellers. Maybe you’re just having one of those days where you can’t help but think “Damn, why do I have so many boxes stacked up in my house?”

Sometimes when unfortunate instances like the ones listed above come up, you think about hanging it up. About getting out of the game. About “retiring” from sneakers, a la Jeremy Guthrie. read more

That’s right, we’ve got an all-new Starting Five, courtesy of our good friend Jordan, who was kind enough to let us shoot the five kicks that are currently in his rotation (and their doubles of course…you’ve got to be sure to keep two pairs on deck if at all possible). Let’s get right to it!

1. Supreme x Nike Air Force 1 High

Jordan Says: The red AF1’s were my favorite colorway out of the three Supreme released last year. I threw the white laces in my everyday pair, they contrast so well with the white upper. read more

If you’ve been online at all this past week, you’ve seen the internet going nuts (word to Paul Wall) over Supreme‘s F/W ’15 offerings. One of their strongest collections in recent memory, the line includes everything from dope overcoats, to a baseball jersey inspired by 1980’s White Sox uniforms to dope trinkets like crowbars and air horns, there’s something for everyone.

Now that I’ve had a few days to absorb the line as a whole, I’ve been able to narrow my favorite pieces down to five, which I’ll present in order as well as spend a little time discussing why I’m so fond of each piece. Let’s get right to it! read more

1. Nike Air Huarache Run PA “White/Gum”

I’m usually not the biggest all-white sneaker fan, but these were too clean to pass up. The ostrich-pattern white leather upper with the gum sole? C’mon son. I actually passed on these when they first dropped, but when I got a second chance to grab them, I couldn’t pass it up. They’re just so easy to throw on with any summer fit..and the comfort is A1 too. read more
