Keep Your Kicks Clean

It’s September already. Summer is in its final throes, and fall is almost upon us. Although this means you’ll have many more options for your outfit (better make sure that layering game is A1!), it also means that there’s going to be a higher chance you’ll mess your kicks up.

Here at KicksOneTwo, we’re firm believers in wearing your shoes. That’s why you bought them after all, right? However, that doesn’t mean we like letting them get dirty and beat up before their time. With that in mind, we decided to bless you with some helpful tips on how to keep your kicks as clean as possible. Let’s get right into it. read more

Getting Kevin Durant’s Autograph

We’ve been feeling pretty nostalgic here at KicksOneTwo as we gave you a Throw Back Thursday post this week, and now I’m going to reach into my personal vault of sneaker stories and tell you one of my favorites . I was just recently looking through my collection and I happened to come across my Kevin Durant signed “Easter” KD V’s. The story of how I ended up getting them signed is a great one that I think you’ll all enjoy!

For this story, we’ll have to bring it way back to March 29, 2013. My man Titus had invited me to the Timberwolves vs. Thunder game to celebrate his birthday, so of course I was excited to see KD play in person for the first time. Since we were going to the game, we had decided beforehand to try to get his autograph. read more

Striking Out On Releases (And How To Deal With It)

I’m mad.

Well, now that the whole situation has somewhat blown over, I’m not really mad at all. However, for the sake of this article, put yourself in the mind state of myself after striking out on a release.

I’m mad.

As the majority of you know, Supreme dropped it’s 2015 fall/winter collection yesterday. There was something for everyone as items ranged anywhere from baseball jerseys to jackets and lunch boxes to crowbars. I’ve never been a huge Supreme-head, but I was planning on picking up a couple items, (or trying to at least), from this release. The drop was scheduled for 10:00 am CST, so I knew I’d be able to try to grab what I wanted. read more

TBT: Starting Fives

It’s Thursday, and we’re winding back the clock. We’ll have a new Starting Five from Bobby coming very soon, so to make sure you’re ready, we thought we’d give you a handy list (with links, of course) of  all the other Starting Five’s we’ve done to make sure you’re up to speed. They’re listed from oldest to newest…and they’re all vastly different. Enjoy!

1. Ross Dwyer

You know I had to do the first ever Starting Five. Everything from Jordan I’s to Flyknit 4.0’s were on deck for me back then. read more

Corporate Logos on Jerseys

Imagine seeing the Target bulls-eye slapped on the middle of the Minnesota Wild jersey. Now, imagine it on the Timberwolves jersey. Twins jersey. Vikings jersey. You get the point. It’s a frightening image to some. Unfortunately, this frightening image could become reality sooner than we might like.

With the recent news of Adidas winning a contract to being the official provider of jerseys to the NHL, (you can do some damage with $70 million), hockey fans all around America fear that Adidas will convert their favorite team’s jersey to a billboard.  Minnesota native and NHL star Blake Wheeler took to Twitter with his thoughts on the subject (hit the link if you want to see what he had to say… personally I agree with him completely). read more

Flight Club’s Financing Plans

It was the talk of the sneaker world this past weekend, and it’s carried over into this week. Flight Club is offering financing on their kicks? You can now split the ridiculous cost into multiple payments, and you don’t have to cough up all the cash up front?

Yeah, that’s the case. If you head over to the Flight Club website, you’ll see that you can split the payments for your kicks, and have up to a year to pay them off. Need those Yeezy 750 boosts but don’t have three racks sitting around? You can now pay a couple hundred bucks a month for them. read more

Wear Your Kicks

It’s a nice, relaxing Sunday. You’re probably sipping a coffee getting your day started while reading this, or maybe you’re nursing a 32oz Gatorade trying your best to shake off the dreadful hangover that you woke up with after last night’s hijinks.

No matter what you’re doing at the present moment, I’m here with a PSA for you, and it’s a simple one: Wear your kicks, and cop to rock. For the readers that might not be as well-versed in sneaker lingo, what I’m telling you to do in plain English is “wear your shoes” and “buy your shoes with the intention of wearing them.” read more

No, I Won’t Plug You.

It happens a few times every year. There’s a limited sneaker that’s dropping and the thirst is real. Everyone and their mother wants a pair, and they’re frantically scrambling around trying to scrape together some way to make sure they get theirs.

If you’ve been in the sneaker game long enough, you have connections, and maybe even a little sway. You might….just MIGHT be able to pull a few strings and get a pair for yourself without too much hassle, and maybe if it’s a really good day you can secure a pair or two for a few other people you know as well. However, I speak from experience when I say that this is a blessing and a curse…and when it comes to a hyped release like this weekend’s “Pirate Black” Yeezy 350 Boosts, it tends to lean further towards the “curse” side of the equation. read more

Are Retailers Doing Too Much for the Yeezy Release?

After seeing the title of this article, you probably have the same thought that I’m having right now while writing it. “Oh God, not another article about the Yeezy Boost’s.” I am fully aware that Yeezy SZN is in full effect with the upcoming release of the Yeezy Boost 350 “Pirate Black”, and you’re all probably sick of seeing release info and how to cop articles. (And even articles on what you should buy when you strike out. Thanks, SoleCollector). I know I’m getting sick of them. Please, just bear with me here. read more

Garage Sale Dream

I love garage sales. Sure, the majority of them are filled with old baby clothes from kids that are now grown up, but there are plenty out there that contain some sweet stuff. The best part is that you never know what you’re going to find.

No matter how many garage sales I go to, I still can’t help but look through all of the shoes and clothing in hopes that I’ll find a grail or a really dope clothing piece. It might sound absurd, but I never stop hoping to find something that’s worth a crazy amount of money for a dirt cheap price. I’m talking deadstock OG Jordan 1’s for $50, or something among those lines. read more
